Ok but Cork were on a better run then than they are and we are on just as good form so we have more chance of winning this game

Well, Sligo play Cork now, after it was postponed in July when Cork beat Limassol, a match you didn't want them to win.

As Cork are still in their post-European slumber, this looks like a home win for Sligo.

Connor braced for huge game (elevenaside.com)

    September 12, 2006

Sligo Rovers boss Sean Connor has billed tonight’s Premier League clash with champions Cork City as one of the biggest games of his managerial career.

The Bit O’ Red currently stand two points ahead of Damien Richardson’s charges and victory would move them further up the table within touching distance of a European qualification place.

Says Connor: “People may wonder why I think this match is more important than the First Division title-winning game last year. But my thinking is simple: win this and we’ve got a great opportunity to put a significant gap between us and Cork.

“I know Cork are more than capable of closing such a gap, but certain games in a season carry a greater relevance than others.

“And this is one. A win here would move us into third spot, give the players a huge boost and give the people of Sligo something to be very proud about.”

We then went 10 days without a game, lost two in a row before we started to get back on track, plus there was the added loss of revenue. The original Cork game was down as a Saturday night fixture.
    Agreed, thank you red bellied

Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

What a stupid thing to say. I don't want Cork to win tonight, I just think they will!
