What are you on about? Once? Twice? Track record? More importantly -why did they pull out of government? Anything to do with the white collar gangsters they were sharing a cabinet with?

Good riddance to the most nastiest right-wing shower of cnuts ever to have blighted Irish politics.
Christ I'd heard the blueshirts were gone some time ago ...but now Sinn Fein too? When did this happen?

They threatened to pull out over the Lenihan episode in 1990, threatened again when Sean Doherty spilled the beans on Haughey in '92, and did pull out in late '92 over allegations of dishonesty at one of the tribunals. They have a track record of pulling out of government, and Bertie Ahern and McDowell are not the best of mates. Already the left are suggesting the coalition will collapse soon, and while acknowledging that they would say that anyway, with McDowell instead of Harney working with Bertie, it wouldn't be a surprise if it did.

Have you noticed the common thread running through those reasons there MyPost? Unapologetic corruption from the nod'n'a-wink merchants they were in government with. So unapologetic they (FF) were unwilling to throw the characters involved to the dogs.

IMO- more recently they should've walked out when Lenihan the younger went unpunished after he made that disgraceful Kebabs remark in the Dail. A remark that, in 30 years time, might hang around our societys neck like Enoch Powells 'Rivers of Blood' speech.

It could also be suggested that FF have a history of not being very good partners in government...
