Superb performance and brilliant support. I suppose that's next year's fans award sewn up already.

[QUOTE=RDBloomfield;530739]Yeah, don't think Puyol was too impressed by DH's 'bogball' tactics though....... 2nd.goal was a good strike...though certain Scots 'refs.' would have called the 3rd 'offside'.......& Spain are officially the biggest under-achievers ever!
    QUOTE]

Your continuing dismissal of His Healyness only serves to make you look small, not him. As far as I'm concerned, if there's a better hattrick scored in the entire ECQ series, I'd like to see it.
And as for Spain being "officially" (eh?) the biggest under-achievers ever*, you might be right, but think on this. In the 27 games before last nights match, Spain had won 18, drawn 8 and lost just one, scoring 57 goals along the way and conceding 15. The defeat was 2-1 against France, in the World Cup Quarter Finals.
Something to be said for "bogball", maybe?

(* - I'd have thought England and Russia/USSR might be up there)

Healy always does the business for Northern Ireland in fairness to him whatever about club level. Did anyone notice his sneaky push on puyol before the first goal good strikers instinct i suppose. Any game i have watched on bbc ni in the last few years the ni fans have always created a partisan atmosphere even against the likes of azerbaijan.

Thought the atmosphere was fantastic, Ramos was been gently reminded by ironic jeering that he was having a nightmare. His face at times was a picture

How do you lose 3-0 to the 106th ranked nation & then beat the 7th ranked 4 days later?

I don't really mind losing my national team in any All-Ireland league merger.

Congrats to Northern Ireland, superb result.

i think pete, its the good aul counter-attacking game that can be played against hte bigger teams, but not necessarily the smaller teams.

    Pride, Passion & Balls

The Englishmen came over in the year 2005
But little did they know that we'd planned a wee surprise
Sir David scored the winner, and Windsor Park went wild
And this is what we sang...
