Who would have thought just a few small months ago that the visit of Monaghan to the Cross would cause a crowd congestion delay (well if I'm to believe aertel from over here). Could some one get a report up so before I finish my working day here.

There's only one Johnny O'Flynn...no wonder we had to wait so long for a prized striker.

I'm stuck here in Boston but the weather at home my mother tells me is glorious.

    Might explain the big turnout.

I'll be back for Friday night.

Just heard that Stephen Napier snapped his achilles tendon and could be out for the remainder of the season. Could some one confirm this later?

Yeah its true, Alan Bennett went in at centre half and had a good game by all accounts.
With Andrews out injured also we are fairly thin at the back.
I mean Cronin's not really a centre half either

Game delayed for 10 mins but crowd of 5,000 eventually got in. A poor game but three good goals. Woods's goal was one of the best ever seen at the Cross - picture Ricky Villa for Tottenham in some cup final in the early eighties.

Napier was taken away in an ambulance. Rumour was he broke his leg.

Bennett had another outstanding game, first in the middle and then at centre-half. We're a bit short at the back now though with Andrews out injured aswell.

"Bring on the Rovers" was the chant at the end though!

There's no way there was only 3,500 in the Cross tonight!

Yea it seems like under reporting of gates for Tax/not giving money to Monaghan is still a feature of City.

I'd say at least 5k there
    Oh no not them again

I heard the delay was because the ref was late in arriving?

There was more than 3,500 but not as much as 5,000. How about 4,250 ?
The great thing though was the extra money for the club. maybe if we get an away draw again in the quarter-final, we should play for a draw??

This is really bad news about Stephen Napier though. We looked dodgy enough when he went off. Bennett did fine when he went back, but if Monaghan had been slightly better in front of goal, we would have been in trouble. They should have scored at least twice, and I thought the ref would definitely give a penalty against Cronin. We are still sitting back too much, and for long periods of the game last night we were fairly poor.
Is it just me, or do we look quite shaky at times?..........
    Billy Woods's goal though.....

They said 5500 on the news and the Echo says over 5000.
Id say 5000 is about right. That is a fantastic crowd for a tuesday night against Monaghan.
