league table??i assume we are top or at least pretty close, does anyone know where we are in the conn/ulster section of the league?
well done to all involved indeed.
Dessie Cawleys U21 side had their 7th victory in a row on Saturday
with a 3-0 win over Mullingar Town. Liam McKenna, Alan Harty and
Michael Kennedy were on the scoresheet.
They face Cork City at a Galway venue in two weeks time in the semi-final
of the Enda McGuill League Cup.
The U21s have improved immensely this season. Well done to the players
and new management.

Actually its the mid western division which takes in ourselves, salthill and the rest coming from Leinister.
If my maths are any good we are joint top with Salthill and Kildare, with kildare having a game in hand, but that could be wrong.
EDIT: Forgot about the mayo league and ballinasloe also!

kildare beat athlone on sunday which puts them on 18 points ahead of gufc and salthill both on 15 in joint second (think salthill have slightly better goal diff). mayo are 4th on 10 points. all 4 teams have same amount of games played.
cheers for that.Well done to players and managment on their remarkable run pity it doesnt get more coverage on the website or local media.
The U21s will be playing Cork City in Terryland Park on Tuesday

Yeah i'd also like to say congratulations to all involved with the under 21s but i'm just wondering why they dont get more publicity, i was actually walking up through Mervue the last day and i saw the under 21 team just leaving the pitch after beating Mullingar. if i knew the game was on there i would have definitely been there. i think it would be a lot better for the lads if more supporters could get behind them but its hard to find out where and when they play
UNfortunately the only place that you find out the information on there upcoming matches is either here or on the official website www.galwayunitedfc.ie at the moment. You can guarantee though, that if they continue their winning ways, that they will soon be making the headlines in the local papers.
thanks terry i'll check it out in the future. It would be great if the local papers and galway bay fm would get involved as well and help to give the boys a bit of support
The lads lost this weekend against fellow cup semi finalists Kildare county 3-0. Elsewhere in the same division salthill beat the mayo league 6-1. Also our opponents in the cup semis Cork city were held to a 1-1 draw against the kerry league.

The Enda McGuill League Cup semi final will now be at a Galway venue on Sunday 10th September.
any idea where that game is gonna be yet Mr. Dunne i heard it was supposed to be in terryland when it was arranged for tuesday but could probably be changed now
Will confirm venue and time ASAP.
i believe the game is scheduled for terryland @ 3pm next sunday (10th sept). bout time the lads got to play in terryland and not in mervue!!!
they have played the last 2 or 3 matches in terryland. The venue is all down to when the senior team are at home. If both teams are at home the same weekend, an alternative venue will be found for the u21's.
they played there last home game in mervue against mullingar, would be about time they got a couple of games in terryland ecspecially as its a cup semi-final.
I heard that if we go through that the final will be played in galway as well, did anyone else hear that
Homer: I'm gonna make sure these deliveries are made on time.
Bart: Let me come with you
Homer: Dont you have school!
Bart: Dont you have work!
Homer: Ah Touche!
KO Sunday Terryland 3.00pm. As this is an FAI fixture there will be a E5 admission charge.
The under 21's came away with a good result yesterday too when beating Tony Mannions Mayo league 4-1. Also in the division, salthill won 2-0 against mullingar athletic. Updated table to follow.
