While your lingo is all hip and stuff i can assure you I am very much living in the present and you have yet to put forward any valid reason as to why any of the aformentioned players merit a place in the irish team ahead of McGeady!!
Nowhere did i say that mc geady is good enough to play for man utd. Now i just checked myself and thank god i didn't wreck myself!!
In fairness thats easy for you to say as someone who watches him for celtic but this entire Irish career has been whazt youd probably consider a bad patct. What are we supposed to base this' how good he is' on in relation to the national team.
That said I though he was better against Montenegro and showed a bit of promise. Was certainly better than hunt
Equally some people can't seem to wait to slate him as soon as he does the slightest thing wrong in a game.
McGeady is a winger. They have to try and be creative and make things happen whether that be taking on their marker or trying to get balls into the opponents box. Ergo they will lose possession more often than someone who is only expected to pass the ball 5 yards sideways or backwards. Now while McGeady could still learn to maybe hold onto the ball sometimes rather than attempting risky passes you have to give certain players the leeway to try and make things happen.
A read of the Celtic forum also shows a lot of them think he should be dropped.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
Relegated to the bench. At this point is looks as though his career might be over. Like so many promising youngsters he just didn't pan out.
I'm just winding you up mate. Obviously he's still a great player, he's just hit a bad loss of form. I hope he pulls out of it before the Cyprus match!
Word is going around that McGeady and Strachan have hardly spoken since the Rangers game after Strachan shouted at him at half time and McGeady answered back angrily. It was supposed to be for backing out of a challenge in the lead up to the Rangers goal and if it was I could understand McGeady because I know that Strachan would let many a player off for something similar.
One journalist was saying that this is where Tommy Burns is missed. If you watched the McGeady documentary a couple of months ago, McGeady talks about how Strachan would be really harsh in his critisism of McGeady and Burns would act as middle man.
I'm not looking to "troll" here and I know this will not be nice for most Celtic an SPL supporters to hear. McGeady needs to get out of the SPL and ply his trade at a much higher level. He is our one player that I think is ideally suited to play in Spain or Portugal, where defenders don't hack you down and you get a bit of time on the ball to be creative.
From the Daily Record (yes, I know) today: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/f...6908-20743747/
As I don't think that Strachan is a great manager a move away from celtic to a decent club with a good manager(Aston Villa, maybe or higher profile club)would be a good move for Aiden.
This the same Strachan who won 3 titles in a row which the current Villa manager couldn't manage to do at Celtic? And who qualified for the group stages of the Champions League (twice) which the current Villa manager also never suceeded in doing?
And on a fraction of the budget playing more attractive football? Just curious like.![]()
McGeady would be better off at Villa if he could get into their team, which would be no guarantee. I believe his career will continue to stall as long as he stays at Celtic. He aint that young anymore lads, just look at some of the guys who are tearing it up in the Premier League that are years younger than McGeady. He needs to get off his ass quick
