I suppose I mean back in the days when Liverpool was the most stable club in England which is a long time ago alright.

To be fair Benitez has not had enough money to buy players capable of toppling Chelsea and Utd (for the league). What are the wages of players at Chelsea and Utd in comparison to Liverpool.

Having said all this Benitez chops and changes too much and has been too defensive against the average/good teams in the premier league.

If he did not have that champions league victory (and lets face it there was a lot of luck involved) then a lot more people would consider his time at Liverpool as not very successful.

Liverpool need investors with deep pockets and all I am saying is that if I were putting up that kind of money then I am not sure I would like Benitez being the one deciding how it was spent.

    Man U fan then eh..??

Seriously, I think moving to Liverpool would be a great move for both McGeady and Ireland. At this stage in his career I think he needs to leave the goldfish bowl that is Scottish football and take a step up and play at Premiership level week in week out.

Spurs at the moment look a better bet to finish in top 4 than Liverpool.

Villa look even better though, I wonder if Martin O'Neill ever considered making a move for him given the Celtic connection. They're pretty strong on the wings though at present I suppose!

I cant see Villa needing to sign any other wingers, Birmingham with the new Chinese investors could be possible. Liverpool probably wouldnt be a great move for him simply because I dont think Benitez would get the best out of him.

Where would he play in the current Liverpool team, and who would be dropped to accommodate him?

Benitez played Dossena on the left and Kuyt on the right against Portsmouth a few days ago. You'd have to think that McGeady would be a much more creative winger than either of them.

I think Aidan would do well to pick up a club in the top half of the Premier League. He is a little better than Hunt and a less effective than Duff.

Would have to agree with you there, and Dossena along with the overrated Babel are linked with being offloaded in the January transfer window aswell.

can't agree there. Hunt has made great impact for ireland at pivotal moments with some vital assists. The only game I remember McGeady shining was Georgia in Croker...
