    This predates BS's info.
I know he prefers to play on the left hand side but if he can force his way into the Everton side it would be great to see him on the right with Coleman, hugely beneficial for us.

More than 1 goal per 7 games for Spartak, not too bad, still needs to improve in that department but better than I thought it would be.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

No need to force himself onto that Everton team, McGeady can just stroll in there. I just hope they're up to the standard and pace of his game. Getting rid of that histrionic Croat jackal would be a good start.

Disappointing it seems like he'll have to wait until the summer. I wonder what kind of fee Spartak were looking for, clearly too much.

Looks like they're going to sign him immediately according to this.

It would be neat if that's the case. So far that's the only report that it's a transfer and not a pre-contract.
    The Mail v the Mirror.

Possibly we can catch most of our players on matchday just by watching 2 games and our derby is between Everton and Hull

A part of me would prefer to see him have a cut at that Russian title. It's a long time to have spent with a major club to come back with no silverware. Obviously the more practical side of me wants the Everton deal to go through if it's a case that there's no way himself and Karpin will sort out their differences.

I suppose we don't have too many players who have won titles in two different countries? I presume there are bound to be a good few that have won two out of LOI/SPL/EPL (or even all three), but titles outside the 'home nations' are very rare. Liam Brady won a couple with Juve but none in England. Roy Keane would have won league titles with United and Celtic but I can't think of anymore in recent times, even within the UK/ROI.

Suppose Stoke deserve a mention as well and potentially Derby next season.

the list of irish players who have won titles is short, as is the list of those who played abroad.

i wonder if roy is the only one?

John O Shea was at briefly Antwerp on loan.

Aldridge won the league and also played abroad.

Mick McCarthy won the Scottish league and played for Lyon (don't see why Scotland is 'abroad' but England isn't).

3 I can remember off the top of my head.

I had Scotland and England in the same bracket anyway. So we still don't have anybody outside of Keane who have won titles in two different countries?

yeah but none of them won the league title abroad, which is what we were after - irish players who won league titles in more than one country, not including LOI.

unless antwerp won it while JOSH was there (edit: they did not).

Ignoring top level...Tony Cascarino won a Second Division title with Millwall and two Ligue 2 titles (Marseille and Nancy).

It's interesting that you consider Ireland "abroad" but not England.

I'd be interested to hear of any that have won top division titles in two or more countries (including the LOI).

Kevin Doyle won a LOI with Cork City and a Championship with Reading but no point in counting lower divisions really.

Fair play I'd say you're spot on going by Wiki dates. He may even have won two of each.

well... he may not have played much for cork athletic. hard to say. i thought i'd remembered reading that he won both a few years ago but i might be wrong.

i can't think of any others either! i originally thought there'd be a good few but it seems not.

Kevin Moran won a title in Ireland and a cup winners medal in England. He also played "abroad" with Sporting Goujons.

Phil Babb won a league in Portugal too, did he not?

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
