That's two in a row for irish players (Cunningham last season)
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton will allow McGeady to join Preston on a permanent basis for £2 million: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport...inger-13031354

signed a three year deal at Sunderland: https://www.safc.com/news/team-news/...ning-completed
Big club. Long contract for his age. Good chance of promotion under a good manager that rates him. Not a bad move.
He'd want to hit the ground running there. The Sunderland fans can be pretty tough it seems.
I don't know if "tough" is the right word. Sunderland fans have had to put up with an awful lot of rubbish from not even half-arsed players over the last few years, especially last season, and they aren't afraid of calling it out. McGeady is very-capable of doing well for them at that level. Problems at the club go beyond the squad though.

The trouble with Aiden is that he takes time to settle. His first month or so at Preston he spent some of the time on the bench and once he got a run, he played well. His loan spell at Wednesday didn't go well as he was in and out of the team. AT least his manager knows him and likes him so hopefully it will work out for him.
P.s. Mods, there are 4 other Aiden McGeady topics which may be worth merging.

Noticed that too. He still seems to glide along the ground like he always has.
We can't complain too much about his not going back to PNE too much either. Frees up some space for Horgan et al to get more regular game time. With McGeady, you'd envisage a manager starting him at Championship level even when out of form due to his ability to pull a rabbit out of that had. That blocks up a starting spot.
Simon Ferry interviews Aiden McGeady (mostly about breaking through at Celtic as a young fella).
The final episode was released yesterday also, where McGeady discusses his move to Everton along with his stints at Sheffield Wednesday & Preston.
