Its rumoured Strachan has made a bid for Pennant at Liverpool (£3m) who is out of contract in the summer. a replacement for Aiden?
Technically far superior than Milner, but Milner is a very effective player.
He's a great athlete, and is better technically than most would give him credit for.
If he went to Villa I'd say the three of them would be rotated based on form and the opponent.
If Villa get into the Champions League they will need 3 top wingers anyway.

I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

He was told not to go to the meeting after a row in the dressing room. Strachan gave out to McGeady, McGeady answered him back, Strachan told him he doesn't need to go to meeting if he already knows everything. That's where the problem is though. McGeady works very hard tracking back and shouldn't be shouted at for failing to hold off a player.
He was injured for a couple of weeks. He's been playing for the reserves since the summer. Getting better and better I must say but Celtic have 3 top class players in the wide positions and now Mizuno looks a player too.

Interesting that McGeady doesn't even make the bench for today's game when Strachan said he was available.
I can see Newcastle make a bid for him.
How would people like to see our two first choice wingers at the same club?
maybe good for their international careers.
He wouldn't get in the Newcastle team. Seriously. Jonas has been one of the highlights for the toon army this season and I'd very much doubt Wise/Kinnear would look to add to a position that doesn't need covering when they have other more pressing areas of concern.
I can see him doing a job at somebody like Boro (especially if Downing went because then they'd have some spare cash) but Newcastle is doubtful. Watch them go and sign him tomorrow now....!!!!
"Gordon Strachan said he left Aiden McGeady out of his squad to face Dundee United because of the Scottish Premier League leaders' recent form.
"We stayed faithful to the squad who had played so well in the last two games," said Strachan after the game.""
Should make a swift return after todays result then!
Anyone who thinks McGeady will play for Celtic again this decade is dreaming.
I was definitely of that thinking and it will more than likely be the case.
Though perhaps the home Scottish cup game against Dundee next week would be a better game to reintroduce him. Prob about 30k fans there as opposed to 60k yesterday. Less chance of McGeady getting some over the top 'return of the prodigal son' type reception which would no doubt would annoy Strachan.
Also more chance of resting a couple of strting 11 players, creating a spot on the first 11 or bench.
However, it will be interesting to see if anything a little more concrete in terms of offers for McGeady happens in the next week or if it is just further redtop speculation....
Though,

McGeady has accepted the ban and fine he received and now wants to get on with 'playing for celtic'. Good news, it would have been very messy if he had appealed, shows he is man enough to admit his mistake, take his punishment and get the head down again. should be involved against dundee at the weekend I'd say.
Havin a weekend away is quite frankly, lettin ur team mates down!
I have my doubts that McGeady will still be playing for Celtic, come the end of the transfer deadline.
I now think he'll be back in for the cup game. I didn't think McGeady would have backed down with his appeal. Himself and his father (a bloody gent) felt Strachan had been way too harsh on him so fair play to them for backing down. Barry Ferguson didn't do the same with Le Guen. He'd have left Rangers if Le Guen stayed. It shows how much the McGeady cares about Celtic.

Aiden McGeady will return to the Celtic first-team for Saturday's Scottish Cup tie against Dundee - his first game since serving a two-week suspension.
A dressing-room row in December with manager Gordon Strachan cost the 22-year-old two weeks' wages and saw him banned from playing for a fortnight.
The midfielder was available for last week's 1-1 draw with Dundee United but failed to make the squad.
BBC Sport has learned that McGeady will play in the fourth-round tie.
McGeady was disciplined following a dressing-room disagreement with Strachan following a 1-1 draw with Hearts on 13 December.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder, who has not commented on his censure, was entitled to consider a defence against the sanctions taken against him, but on Tuesday he chose to let the matter rest.
When pressed on McGeady's omission from the Celtic squad to face Dundee United, Strachan said he wanted to "stay faithful" to the players who had won the previous two games.
The Celtic manager also put McGeady's absence down to the rule that requires Scottish Premier League sides to include two under-21 players in their match-day squad.
Strachan refused to field questions about McGeady at Celtic's media conference ahead of the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee.
90 mins and the winning goal today, well done wee man.
