If Kolorov is quick... I definitely underestimated how quick he is. Pace is not something I would have ever associated him with.

Walters is a grafter and a mullicker who gives 100%. Irish crowds love that.
McGeady always tries a trick and it doesn't always work for him. Irish crowds hate that.

Walters has done more with his limited skill-set than McGeady has it must be said
it's not trying tricks that don't come off, it's getting in good positions and failing to deliver a good cross/pass/shot.

    repeatedly.

He's been one of the better full backs in Europe for the past six or seven years - you don't do it without pace. As I said, maybe his speed is underestimated.

Really hope mcgeady starts next 2 games another goal today to get him in the mood. Does he have as many as maguire now despite missing chunk of games cause of injury?

That was his third goal for Sunderland today, all in the league. Three assists as well, not bad in seven starts with a struggling side.

He caused a bit of a stir today by going full Adebayor in celebrating his equaliser. Football boo boys don't like it up em.

He is a bit long in the tooth to be doing that sort of thing .

His time at Preston probably did help his career .

He is in good form goal wise any how .

Nice to see him showing some fight. He needs to give fans in Aviva the same treatment stick it to the apes who constantly get on his back when he tries to be inventive we can't tolerate risk taking

bizzarly he was taunted during the game by the preston fans he served so well last season. his reaction was therefore very understandable really

I said to him he looked like Adebayor at City. Why shouldn't you celebrate? He was unfairly taunted, I thought, because he was exceptional last year. He didn't have a choice to come here, so I thought it was a bit unfair what went off."

Preston boss Alex Neil also played down McGeady's actions. He said: "I was too disappointed with conceding to notice Aiden's celebration. I saw him run somewhere. I think in football emotions run high. We were delighted when we scored. I'll be honest, I don't make too much of it.

I would say "some Preston fans". There is always an element who will boo just about anything or anyone for any possible excuse. I was at Deepdale in August sitting among there fans and there are some Neanderthals there ok, but the thing is those ones also resembled their fore-bearers but there were also a lot of fans who were there only for the football.

The most inane booing I ever heard was at an Irish game for Sterling in the game against England because he had left Liverpool I think. Bizarre.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Irish fans booing along Manc/Scouser lines is just beyond belief.

Celtic fans booing Henrik Larsson was probably the craziest ever in my opinion.

run close by irish fans booing the wrong Danish player thinking it was peter lovenkrands, who was playing for rangers at the time, only for lovenkrands to later come off the bench in the 2nd half

To be fair, the announcer had said it was Lovenkrands who came on. Wasn't the player cheered after the mistake was admitted too?
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

possibly. but shouldn't someone who feels he has reason (in his own head) to boo a particular opposition player be able to actually recognise him from the stands?

And even if they were booing the correct player, it was still pretty sad.

Peter Madsen I think it was? I thought that whole episode was funny, especially later in the game when we cheered the Danes and booed every Irish touch.

He returned to Celtic Park in the CL for Barcelona. Quite a large number booed him.

Hadn't been aware of that but it's very audible in this video after he scored against Celtic for Barcelona:

Some discussion about it on a Celtic forum here: http://www.talkceltic.net/forums/thr...k-booed.32909/

    And here: http://kerrydalestreet.co.uk/topic/524397/1/

I think most of the booing was limited to just after he'd scored (according to posts on those forums), but I'm still stunned even at that.
