Bud Ice is lovely. Havn't seen it sold in Ireland though. Couple of new beers on the market here in teh UK. Carlsberg Elephant (8%), Carlsberg Edge (hint of lemon) Sure I've seen an 8% bottle of Cobra, think its called 'King Cobra'

the local brew was ambar which was tough going after a few days
so quilmes came as a welcome relief!
Had trouble finding a decent brew in Oz. VB was brutal, Fosters...nuff said. Settled on Hahn Ice, lovely on a hot day.

Quilmes, dont they sponsor a South American club team? Newky Brown is class though, rekindled my love for it. Although its quite heavy for the summer, good stuff all the same. My Aussie housemate has got me into Singha, a Thai beer, and its damn nice!

The most common one is Pear Cider but you can get Apple, Strawberry, Blueberry, Blueberry/Lime, Elderberry, Elderberry/Lime, Raspberry, Raspberry/Blackcurrent, Summer Fruits, etc. and they're still cider...
Be warned, that Raspberry & Blackcurrent stuff is 8.5%

Koparrberg isn't brewed as a cider though, is it not? I thought flavours etc were all added closer to bottling.

If something is made up of carbonated water, pear wine, flavours and additives, then in my book it's not a cider (or a perry) but closer to a spritzer, or alcopop.Kopparberg is cider.

Defo a cider
My local off license did that at €1 a bottle for a while. Lovely beer. Another one for the holidays is Estrella Damm if you're ever in Barcelona (or Salou). Haven't seen it outside Catalunya though

Branded as a cider, yes. And a link to their UK distributors won't tell me anything liable to change my mind.
People love it, though and that's fine. A little too sickly sweet for me.
As Al Murray might say, it's a fruit based beverage.
