The porterhouse in dublin are having their 10th birthday, to celebrate they've a new bottled stout called celebration stout. it's 500 ml, and 10% ABV!!
Had a bottle of it last night, nearly blew my head off!!

There's one in covent garden in london as well, but i'm not sure if they're selling it

    A lovely beer.

The only place I have seen it outside Catalunya is in "La Tasca" - a UK chain of tapas restaurants. There's one in The Odyssey complex in Belfast.

Ye can get it in some huge offy down the Ormeau Road. It has lots of beers from around the world. Never been though, just what people have been saying.

Must be the Vineyard - up near the Pavillion Bar (Big House). My favourite off-licence.

I'm in there regularly enogh - haven't seen it, but they do tend to have some beers in for a short period of time.

Anyone ever drink BAltika (Blue label). Lovely stuff. Tesco good for the foreign beers now. Zyweic is good.

if you can get it anywhere in Ireland try Karlovacko. Well worth it. 7%, big bottle, serve cold. Its a quality beer.

Anyone know why it's near impossible to get Newcastle Brown Ale in bottles* here ?

I absolutely love the stuff but it's quite hard to get here. One offie in Limerick (macs, ennis road) and one in Ennis (on roundabout by St. Flannans) stock it. €3.60 a bottle in Limerick and I think it was even more in Ennis.

I also know one offie in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan stock it (€3.20) and that's it ...three outlets in the entire unoccupied 26. Cross the border to Newry and you can get it for £1.59 (€2.35 approx) and it's in most offies and many pubs all over the north.

Now in all fairness it's probably a good thing I can't get it here too often or too easily but ...why? Why can't the likes of Tesco or Dunnes or even Fine Wines who all have fairly extensive "exotic" beer sections get a beer that's bottled across the water.

*Cans are widely available and are pish. I'd sooner drink paint.

I think Beamish bottle it now in Cork. They used to once upon a time anyway. Also check out Supervalu if there's any close to you, Supervalu in Togher Cork used to have it anyway, but they always had a good selection of beers so might not be the norm.

I know it's not much help to you Lionel, but a local spar here stocks the bottle and the can. The bottle is about €3.30, the can €1.40, and yes they both taste as they are priced.
