Nothing about it on WHU site although if it was true then it's to be expected as they would want to keep it quiet for fear of getting gazzumped, considering the clubs that would likely be knocking on his door.

    Very strange if true.

They're supposedly getting Mascherano too, on a joint one-year loan. Fckin' hell.

My sources were predicting that Tevez would sign for Aston Villa last week, so presumably he's looking for a move to the EPL (or likes claret and blue.)

Conspiricy theory doing the rounds is that the deal is actually funded by Chelsea who don't want the pair to sign for Ansenal. So they have decided to fund the deal. They will then take both players next season.

I think there are links between Chelsea and the hammers .. would not be surprised if its a loan deal .. with Chelsea evaluating if they (him and Mascherano) are good enough for the premiership. also keeps them away from Arsenal and United and doing damage against them at the same time.

bizzare if that is true ... apparently they also bid for Trezuguet after hearing United were after him. talk about having a strangle on the premiership.

Apparently some crowd called MSI own both player's contracts and this MSI crowd tried to buy west ham no so long ago. To make it even more interesting, Abramovich supposedly is a part owner/shareholder or somesuch, in MSI.

It doesn't really matter who Tevez goes to anyway, South American's never do well in the premier league, he'll be no different.

Watched loads of Brazilian football in the past 2 years on Sky. Tevez, for me is a Rooney clone, a fantastic player. Mascherano, IMHO, was brilliant in the world cup as a holding midfielder, and rarely gave a pass away. He reminded me of Roy Keane in that everything he did was so simple yet effective. Brilliant coup for the hammers if they get them.

Brilliants signings for West Ham. They have a chance of winning the UEFA Cup now.

If Tevez and Mascherano are still at West Ham come the end of the season I'll eat my shorts. I suspect this is a dodgy deal if there ever was one. Don't tell my Dad though, he's a Hammer and when he gets home from work I'd imagine he'll be a very happy person

Still trying to get my head around this one.

I've been watching Tevez for several years now, first at Boca and then Corinthinans. I was amazed when Corinthians were able to come up with the dough to buy him from Boca and outbid the top European Clubs (it was a South American transfer record I believe). But to think he would go from there to West Ham a couple of years later is too wild.

Great fooballer. One of the craziest things I ever saw in a football match was when he was given a red card in the Boca v River Plate Copa Liberatodores semifinal a few years ago. He scored a goal and then did a chicken dance to taunt the River fans (Boca fans call River Las Gallinas, the "Hens"). Got a straight red. That was one of the most amazing intense games I've ever seen. To understand the Boca/River rivalry, think Celtic/Rangers and multiply by 10 or 15.

How many pies does Abramovich have his fingers in? Part stake in Spartak Moscow (sponsored by his oil company Sibneft) and now this... stinks of a Alexei Smertin style deal to me.
