At a recent meeting between the NLSA (National League Supporters' Association) and the FAI, the FAI noted that the proposed name for the new league, the Premiership, has to date been only a working name. The FAI has asked for supporters to submit suggested alternative titles. Feel free to do so here, or you can PM me or e-mail info@nlsupporters.com. We'll collate them and send them on in for consideration.
I honestly don't know if this will make any difference in the end, but there's certainly no harm in trying. Opposition to the name "The Premiership" seems to be widespread, so if the fans can alter that to select our name for our league, so much the better. There's obviously no stopping anyone registering favour with the name "The Premiership" either.
The NLSA's presentation to the FAI on the new league format, together with other items (minutes, etc) is available on our website.
Edit - meant to say I'll post this message on all club forums when I get home, so as I'm not seen to be favouring one club over another! But we'll hit fans of most clubs here.

Heres a mad idea,how about the the League of Ireland Premier Division

My choice alright.
Thought the best idea would be to leave it as is but as they are intent on changing it I-League is what I'm going for.

For me the current name is a good one. But as they are launching a new league and product they will want a new name. I'd go for I-League short, simple and catchy
