    On The One Road

If one song could be a supporters anthem for irish fans surely it must be this song...who can forget the emotion it stirred when blasted out after the ireland 1 0 victory over holland in the 2002 wc campaign....the line ' dublin, belfast , cork or donegal says it all.....remember the 32 counties are united behind the irish boys...see you all in stuttgart....lyrics below, remember to sing loud and clear.....

We're on the one road, sharing the one load
We're on the road to God knows where
We're on the one road, it may be the wrong road
But we're together now who cares?
    Northmen, Southmen, comrades all!
    Dublin, Belfast, Cork or Donegal!
We're on the one road, swinging along, singin' a soldier's song!

Though we've had our troubles now and then
Now's the time to make them up again
Sure aren't we all Irish anyhow?
Now is the time to step together now

We're on the one road, sharing the one load
We're on the road to God knows where
We're on the one road, it may be the wrong road
But we're together now who cares?
    Northmen, Southmen, comrades all!
    Dublin, Belfast, Cork or Donegal!
We're on the one road, swinging along, singin' a soldier's song!

Tinker, tailor * every mother's son
Butcher, baker * shouldering his gun
Rich man, poor man * every man in line
All together, just like Auld Lang Syne!

Night is darkness just before the dawn
    From dissensions, Ireland is reborn
    Soon, will all United Irishmen
Make our land a Nation Once Again!

All lads would need to know would be the chorus......................and I think alot of people already know that anyhow.
Also you need is a few boys to start singing it at the game and if its loud enough the rest would join in.
Might be an idea to get the announcer at Lansdowne Rd to start playing it at all home games!
There'll be snow on that one.

remember it well almost as good as walking back to our buses through all the no surrender brigade absolutely priceless. This is one of our songs rather than some of the inane copied chants from across the water wouldnt it be great to hear it ring out before the game on saturday it would scare the germans ****less all those green jerseys and the wolfe tones magic!
