It would be the most unexpected occurance in the history of the world if we were to get the shed,it would be brilliant but the fact is that the gards want is in the connaught as it's completely away from the bohs fans and easier to police. We would be to close to the bohs fans if we were in the shed and we wont be in the jodi definitely. If we must be in the rain can we atleast get the terrace behind the goal where we can get an atmosphere going.I used to love standing on the shopping centre terrace in dalymount and it's not breaking any regulations,is it?
Nobody has been there since April 2001, as apparantly it's considered to be too dangerous.

Yeah, that's what I reckoned unfortunately.Looks like connaught side as per usual so.

I don't have a problem with standing there, used to stand there long before the shop terrace was closed. Unlike Tolka, there are no floodlight poles affecting the view. Luckily, it very rarely rains during Rovers-Bohs games at Dalymount.![]()

Wrong. They can be clearly be seen on the tape leaving with about 5 minutes left when the gates were open for a period of about 3 to 4 minutes.
My guess on the night was about 4000 at the game. The new stand has 800 seats and was full. There were empty seats at the back but also people were standing on the steps.
Speranza give it up its getting old. Rovers v boez is the derby.

I'm surprised by the figure of 1,600 Bohs tickets, thought it was about 2,500 myself. Bohs fans mustn't have been as densely packed as i thought.
What happened with the ladder up to the press box BTW? It seemed to appear and disappear a few times during the match.
They were doing plenty of moaning in Fagan's after the game, although most of it was about Pat Dolan.![]()
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
That was a very small minority who had the wit to anticipate the wait that was coming. I was there with kids for best part of 20 to 25 minutes, as they let us out two by two.
One little scamp did us all a service with a a highly entertaining 'pitch invasion' which helped pass the time as he was chased by good-natured stewards. To general applause, he then took a bow as he skipped a thousand or so places in the queue.
I heard several jokey references to Rovers fans loosening every brick and collecting every bottle in Drumcondra while we were waiting to get out but I think that's because precedent was set the night we left Richmond Pk and found Rovers outside throwing every bottle, brick and spark plug to be found in Inchicore. That was funny!
The problem was that even though the stadium and surrounding area had been cleared, we were still only allowed to exit through the Ballybough end whereas opening up BOTH exit gates would have cleared the jam in half the time. Despie circumstances I thought it was a well behaved and good spirited Bohs crowd that eventually filtered out onto Richmond Road.
Philo, we were let out 1st and we were only allowed up to Drumcondra so I suppose it works both ways. If it stops some of the **** that goes on I don't mind putting up with a little innconveniance at our games.
When Rovers were leaving there were Bohs fans standing at the gates of the Ballybough end but when we were leaving the Rovers fans were long gone so what harm would it have done opening up the other gates?
TO TELL THE TRUTH IS REVOLUTIONARY
The ONLY foot.ie user with a type of logic named after them!
All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
Thing is we left through the Ballybough gate but were allowed to walk from there to Drumcondra along Richmond Rd, which the vast majority did. Richmond Rd and Drumcondra were both clear of Rovers fans so there would have been no harm in opening both gates to clear the stand quicker. I'm not complaining, just commenting on better ways to approach crowd control.
It could be done a lot better but I think last friday was an improvement on previous meetings, like when we were supposed to be held back in Richmond that night and were let out after 2 minutes while bohs fans were boarding buses after a late winner![]()
