Tough draw, bu Derry have been upsetting the odds so far. They've a quality squad, so they might put it up to PSG. If they keep it tight at the back in the first leg, and keep a clean sheet-they'll have a decent chance in the second. Hopefully PSG will underestimate Derry.

Well the two most recent meetings against French sides by Irish clubs have not resulted in any hidings. Cork lost 4-2 on agg to Nantes in the QF of the Intertoto drawing 1-1 at home and Shels lost 4-2 to Lille on agg in the 1st round of the UEFA cup also drawing at home 2-2.

PSG are far better than both those teams but a draw could be possible at home. You never know.

Fu<ken worst draw ever! Now looking for Vs Lille, Vs Depor style home performanaces from Derry.
Draw at home will be minimum requirements to progress. More importantly that would give the extra points needed to get seeded in the champions league rd 3 if Derry were to win the league. (am i right about that?) Plus and extra .333 for a draw! Imagine 2.833! that puts us well ahead of schedule of getting 2.0 a year for the next 5 years! (2 years ahead if im not mistaken!)

Not sure they are far better than Lille. PSG have a reputation as being rich but nearly always disappointing. At least they have sold that Ronaldinho guy though!

have to correct you on one point here, Lille are FAR better than PSG over teh last two seasons. FAR better. and thats a fact. Derry haven't a prayer against a French Ligue 1 side though. Worst draw they could have got

You have to lok at it this way - Newcastle got past Ventspils (I think) in the round just gone, 1-0 nil on agg.I reckon Derry could have caused an upset there. So there's every possiblity that Psg may flatter to deceive, and allow Derry to cause a few shocks.

last 4 seasons for PSG have been 11th 3rd, 9th and 9th so last two seasons have been consistently mid table.

Pauleta was League's top scorer last year though

they've a fighting chance obviously but the point is there were a couple of mug outfits still in the draw that would have yielded potential to score away goals against. Well organised French Ligue 1 teams dont fit that bill and they have decent international strikers

I hope everybody writes off Derry. And that they play the first leg in the Brandywell. Mid table ligue 1 team - despite thier history gives Derry an outside chance. They should definitely be looking to get at least a draw in the first leg. Second leg will be tough - but who knows!

The newsreader on five live named Derry as one of the UK's representatives. Well I suppose they are technically in the UK but they are not representing a UK league.

PSG have had a poor few seasons by their high standards.

So far this season they have played very bad, and lucky to have got a win in their last game.

They will underestimate Derry and I reckon, especially at home, Derry can cause an upset.

I hope Derry beat them as I hate those Paris c**ts so much, just like Dundalk. I'll actually be in France for the away leg, so I might throw on my Marseille jersey and see if I can get a ticket

Well on a selfish note I hope Derry play in Dublin as I'd like to go to the match. Good to see a game against a well known European opposition.
