Derry City: Euro success leads to fixture congestion?

As Derry already have 3 postponed games to re-arrange could mean having to play 11 games in last 6 weeks of the season with 5 of those games against the top 4 teams.

Progressing in the FAI Cup won't help. I am assuming don't get past PSG as would be impossible to win the league then. Will they last the pace?

Would the eL extend the league if Derry City made the Uefa Cup Group stages? I presume the rules do not allow that?

Not really, for example, if we take the following as our first team:

Forde, Hargan, Kelly, Hutton, McCallion, McCourt, Molloy, Martyn, Deery, Beckett, McHugh

...that leaves the following 'leftover' to make up a second team:

Jennings, Holmes, Oman, Delaney, McChrystal, Brennan, Higgins, McCafferty, McGlynn, O'Flynn, Farren.

It's called 'squad depth.' Either of those teams would do well in the league.

Do you have a 3rd team for the league cup semi at Rathbane?

However your 2nd straing would not win the league. Lot of postponed games against league title rivals to come too.

I forgot the League Cup games so ye could have 20 games in the next 11 weeks.

Aye - but luckily we can swop the 2 teams around...

We do have a lot of games, but as any decent Manager will say you just get on with it. That is one of the downsides of doing well - you inevitably have a lot of games on your plate.

At least Shels have one less trophy to worry about now......
