    Nothing major to discuss ,
What about the fixture list and the carry on that went on with Moher.
What about the standard of referees, something has to be done between the clubs and the refs , that alone deserves a major talking about.
What about the change to summer soccer.
What about a change at the helm?

    Just my initial thoughts

If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

    Proposals fOR cHANGE

Without poposals submitted there will be no changes.
Bridge United are the only club with proposals submitted.

It is important that if you have views on how things should work that you make sure your representatives have submitted proposals for change, or else there will be nothing on the agenda to discuss.

Its all very well coming on to foot.ie and mouthing off about what should be done and what should not be done... Referees are this and that... Madden this and that.

Fact is to do something about it you need to send your nomination/proposal form to the lg before the AGM and it will be discussed at the AGM.

I imagine what Madden meant about "nothing major to discuss" is that very little or no clubs have sent in proposals (bar Bridge Utd).

    changes for next season

Referees are referees whether they be good or bad they exist and no matter what people try to do or say at an AGM nothing will improve them or make them any different.

Maybe there could be some good proposals for summer soccer or if not then maybe the garauntee of premier football throughout the winter months. I know nobody can predict the weather but hopefully with no schoolboys in winter the pitches might hold up better.

I think the munster clare area and fai clare area trophys should be scrapped.

Bridge United have requested a discussion on Summer Soccer.
Also we have proposed the introduction of Saturday afternoon games for some divisions as opposed to Sunday morning games.

    Argument for:
    • Referees: Relieve the pressure on referee shortages
    • Players: If a game is cancelled on a Sunday morning most players have just sacrificed their whole weekend.
    • Pitches are given every chance to be made playable
    • Improved attendances at games

    Question

Lads, what do people actually want to see changed about referees (constructive critisism)? No more mistakes? Well, that's like saying to a player don't play that bad pass, don't make that mistake in a game. Things happen in the heat of the moment for both players and referees but players don't suffer the scruntiny like referees, especially on this forum.

Perhaps putting a motion down about better training for refs could be something but that would likely be defeated, as they can claim they already have sufficient training and meetings and it's unlikely the Clare League would formally go down the road of critising refs due to the trouble this would cause. As in any walk of life, everyone has different opinions and intepretations of things and the same happens in a game of football. The fact that we are talking about junior soccer and expecting premiership style refs does not make sense. Invariably, the better refs in Clare will end up doing more FAI games and be invited to National League panels and thus have less time for the Clare League. So what are you left with? People doing their best to interpret the rules in junior soccer and not getting much thanks for it. I'm sure this is the same problem all over the country so all we can do is try to respect refs as best we can but still not be afriad to constructively critise if necessary. Just my thoughts.

These are good proposals. With the schoolboys not going during the winter, it is vital that sensible use of the weekend is made and matches should try to be played on Saturday, although this may not suit some teams with guys working on Saturday. It should still be discussed.

Kick offs would be at 3-4 o clock so work should not be a problem, no more so than it is for mid week games at the moment

Inch Crusaders have a number of proposals submitted:

Before the start of every season every club in the Clare league should have an updated copy of the rules and regulations, and a provisional copy of the fixtures for the coming season. The rules and regulations should include the procedure for appeals to the Clare League, Munster and FAI.

There should be a minimum of 72 hours between games.

If a club enters a 2nd team and that team does not complete their fixtures, the clubs 1st team should get an automatic 10 point deduction from the current campaign.

There should be a team of the month award for all divisions. Clubs that have played a minimum of 3 games to be eligible for award.

Clubs should be allowed to use 5 subs for matches under jurisdiction of the Clare league.

Totally agree with you but…I think people just want them to be consistent…we all know what I mean…on the part about the players playing bad…. if a player makes an accidental mistake in the line of a bad tackle he goes end of story if a ref makes a mistake he should admit as early as possible and I for one would be happy with that stops the frustration building from not being able to talk to the ref …
    Just my two cents

Your absolutely right....but it is rare that referees admit mistakes, i suppose they like to keep the high moral ground even though if they did just come out and say "sorry, got it wrong there", this would create more respect for them from players and it is something that should be encouraged. The laws allow them to do this.
