We'll have no refs left the way ye are going!
I wasn't at the game on Friday night so i can't comment.
I was however at the match yesterday and think julian made the correct decision giving Mike O'Malley a yellow card for a desperate lunge from behind on the Avenue player. Mike's first yellow card however was harsh, there were worse tackles flying in from both sets of players prior to that booking and Wacker was taken out in the 1st minute by a tackle that can only be described as an assault, which went unpunished.
If a card had been issued for that tackle then Julian would have set his stall out and what followed would probably not have materialised.
I think Mike O'Malley is an excellant footballer on his day, what lets him down is his tendancy to get involved in every little skirmish that happens around him and is easily intimidated. This happened yesterday when the Avenue O'Malley and Mike had a few words in the first half near the touchline and he lost the plot.
At the end of the day Newmarket needed a scapegoat for their defeat and low and behold Julian fitted the bill. (Undeservedly so) in my opinion.

At the end of the day Avenue scored twice newmarket scored once. Whether Newmarket were the better team doesnt matter. But calling J Stanford a scapegoat for Newmarket - u must be taking the p*ss. His problem is simple - he refereed Newmarket against Liffford in the league a few weeks back and awarded a penalty to lifford in the last minute for nothing. He was on the end of some abuse as a result. From this moment he has a grudge against newmarket. I suppose this fella was the scapegoat for newtown also when he failed to give an offside to decide there match against moher..the man is not fit to referee premier matches. As an observer its just a shame to see matches be talked about for refereeing decisions rather than good games.
Heard Rineanna beat the Bridge on Penalties in the play off last night. A bit of a come down for the Bridge after winning the league last year but they still have a chance against Bunratty this weekend.
Any match report from anyone that was at the game.
I thought the Bridge would have won last night but Rineanna on their day can put it up to most teams.
True that it is a come down but we were always going to struggle with the exodus of players leaving from last years squad. League table doesn't lie and we are glad that we have another opportunity on Sunday.
We are fairly low after last night as we feel we probably edged it but both sides had clear chances to win it. Penalties are a lottery.
Seasoned campaigners Hugh Kelly and Beezer Murphy scored the goals last night. Hugh scored 5 minutes int othe second half, Beezer 10 minutes later.
wen are the bridge playin bunratty!!
I don't think I'm a kitten, and if I was, I would be a really ugly one with a beard."
Gennaro Gattuso on Steven Gerrard's claims that he is as scary as a kitten.
Sunday at 11 in Newmarket
Dave McCarthy, Albert and Julian linesmen
lads what game is on sunday?
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later
FORM IS TEMPORARY, CLASS IS PERMANENT
Considering 3 of our better players joined ye this year and ye still couldn't challenge for league honours I don't think ye are in a position to be laughing too much.
