Look newtown youths lost in the derby 9-0 with sore heads, they were a disgrace for 1 game, let themselves and the club down especially the gaffer who put so much effort in,for the other 20 games not many of ye were praising the boys on this thread, when they played some lovely football, but when it comes to bitching ye will be the first to get your fingers going on the p.c to get your bitter negative comments read.
In the history of the clare league dont think a youths area cup final has been talked about so much.
Anyone care to predict the outcomes of both games this weekend? Should be 2 good games...
Newtown will have too much football for Moher on a big open pitch. Mohers recent record not great - were in pole position in the league and lost it over the last 5 or 6 games.
Newmarket probably have the best record in the premier over the last 7 or 8 games. They have won nearly every game and are flying and now starting to score lots of goals. Avenue have good individuals if you give them space but they have lost lot of games towards end of the season. Id back Newmarket based on their recent form and that they should battle harder than Avenue.
I think a Newmarket Newtown final would be a good reward to two clubs who have worked hard and invested to provide the two best pitches in Clare.
are both semi finals on in the county grounds?
I eats the beef......
Moher beat newtown 1 nil, scored in the last 2 minutes with a crazy decision by the linesman, moher striker was at least 5 yards offside and slotted it in past skinny, newtown management lost the head with the linesman, cant blame them either after controlling most of the game,
After watching both games at the weekend it was a shame both games were decided by bad officiating from the referees. J Stanford (linesman) in newtown game never called offside when Moher player was 5 yards offside. The same man was referee for avaenue and newmarket where he sent off Mike o Malley and ultimately ended the game for newmarket. Watching him yesterday i think the Clare league should take more responsiblity for who the place in charge of such games.

Any match reports from the two semi-finals? What was the score in Newmarket v Avenue? Was the relegation playoff between Rineanna and Bridge played?
Rineanna V bridge is on tomorrow night at 7 in Digifone
I was at the Newtown match and totally agree that the Moher player was yards offside. I didn't make it to the other semi but I believe that the refereee made a harsh decision for Malley's second yellow.
I think it will be hard to look past Avenue for the final. Anyone got an opinion of who will win it?
not surprised that it was stanford in the middle of all the controversy on friday too. he's a disgrace of a ref in all fairness,he hasnt a clue. he ruined the match yesterday, but the league have been makin great decisions all season so they'll probably reward stanford with the job to ref the final itself sunday week
