"You'll not see nothing like the Shelbourne team"
Hi Folks,
I haven't yet figured how to post a new thread in the Clare League forum so excuse me sticking this in as a post to this threas.
I'm new to foot.ie forum and was drawn here when I saw the Clare League thread. I played for Kilrush Rangers from 1977 (aged 15 years and 9 months on debut versus St. Micheal's a match I scored in) to 1989, before work took me elsewhere. Best memory was of a Haughey Cup final versus Bridge Celtic (I was left-back for Kilrush), which although we lost, we still partied hard after!
I am on the Forum to keep up with Clare League football (highly under rated but mostly from lack of good playing surfaces) but also because I know Kilrush Rangers (then Leadmore Rangers) was founded in 1977 and so should have its 30th Anniversary this year. I would love to hear of any events on for that. Does anyone have any contact details for current officials? I'd be very surprised if Robert Clancy is not still involved - I'm sure his son Trevor is in the team by now (feeling old now) ;-) Others of my era where the Roche brothers, John (who also played for Avenue in FAI Junior Final) and Seamus, Martin O'Brien (man of match in above final), Liam Griffin, Pat Deegan etc.
Any info would be appreciated, particularly if there is anywhere else online where I could get info.
Thanks for all the latest news - much of the controversy looks just like it did in the 80's!

I think the way its going, if Rineanna lose to Moher 2moro night, thay will surely be relegated as its their last game of the season... Mountshannon, Bridge Utd and Newmarket all have games in hand and its a battle between these three for the relegation playoff.. What makes it better is that they all play eachother...
Yo Hack,
Obviously the way the fixtures have been planned (or unplanned) there is no way that everyone can finish on the same day ....
Ideally, as we've mentioned on this forum before it would be nice to get a full fixture list at start of season allowing for cup/shield/FAI weekends and any games postponed for weather should just move to end of list.. it'll also allow for clubs to book free weekends between eachother (For dinner dances etc), well in advance...
I think another thing that should be brought in is the referee should ring in score at end of each game (He is surely getting paid enough)- that way there cant be any incidents of wrong scores from home teams which unbelievably has happened and the league could use goal differences etc...
With the referee keeping the score, he should also have goalscorers name included.. that would save us doing it on this forum and make a much more interesting league for all divisions with goalscorer awards etc.... its not that hard as we've proved on this site and the clare league site..
Oh to dream of a league so organised!!

My club will be proposing at the AGM that a master fixture list be drawn up before the start of next season.![]()
That doesnt sound like a bad idea
Limerick Lg done it but it did not work as far as I could see.
Problem is that teams have a good run in the Fai of Mjc and do not have lg games for weeks and fall way behind the schedule.
Did anyone see the interview in the Clare People with the Burren manager. He wants to see linesman at all premier games next season.
What hat does he intend to pull these linesmen out of???
A master fixture list would be a lot better than the current system. We would look for a three man fixture committee to draw up fixtures and make the necessary changes throughout the season. Everyone would know where they stand at the start of the season and most likely know who they are playing in the last game of the season. Every league has to accommodate teams that have good cup runs. There is enough weeks in a season for this to be a success. It will eliminate the situation where some clubs can't play matches on Sunday's. At the moment certain clubs are luckywith the fixtures but if the fixtures were there before the season started then everyone would know that this was just a coincidence
.
In his defence I would say for certain the fixture secretary already works with a master schedule the problem with the master schedule is it gets thrown all over the place when you get cancelletions..I know for any team i have been involved with the season starts with home to one team away to another etc....its only when games are called off the problems begin....perhaps Summer football is the answer, less cancellations - more structure to the fixture list.
Is there support for summer football in Clare???
Kildysart beat Burren handy last night.... Surprise Surprise![]()

Both are now promoted to the Premier and well done to them.
Bunratty wait to see who finishes 8th in the premier and will playoff with them to see who plays premier next year.
Is this the 3rd year of promotion/relegation playoff's. Last year Mntshn beat Corofin and the year before Rovers beat Olympic AFAIK.
any one no wen the dates fpr the playoffs are?? and how do they decide who gets home advantage?? or is a nuteral venue???
I don't think I'm a kitten, and if I was, I would be a really ugly one with a beard."
Gennaro Gattuso on Steven Gerrard's claims that he is as scary as a kitten.
Neutral venue usually... don't think dates have been decided yet.
"there cant be any incidents of wrong scores from home teams which unbelievably has happened and the league could use goal differences etc..."
Wrong. You cant use goal difference when there are possibilities of walk overs
"You'll not see nothing like the Shelbourne team"
This is a waste of time because of the the Cups mentioned previously and cancellations. This was promised and produced prevviously but could not be adhered to.
