Its surprisingly quiet here regarding the OT. Still maybe the league and cup will bring out the best in the posters here, especially what is going on with Moher. Bad enough that they are playing when it suits them but now their manager is reffing their games.I thought I had seen it all with the Clare League but this will take some beating.

looks like the whole OT v league stoppage backfired badly. The Moher Fri/Mon
religious/GAA issue is blatant favouritism and bordering on cheating. Can somebody clear this up once and for all...why dont they play Sundays like everyone else???

The Clare league must have been top of the class at the John Delaney/FAI school of football administration. First class honours degrees all round

Moher are quite within their rights to request games on Mondays and Fridays when it suits ie WHEN IT SUITS BOTH TEAMS. Its up to opposition teams to tell the league if it doesnt suit them to play on those days. Why do they play Monday night surely if sunday doesnt suit they could play on saturday evening and lads could go out for a few pints after.
If a lot of teams are unhappy then put in an objection together. If the objection is ignored then you can go on about favouratism but its unfair to say that before you try.
As regards a manager of a team reffing any fixture other than a friendly this must be a wind-up. I cannot believe that this could happen in any sport at any level.

I saw six of the best goals I have ever seen in one match last night. And an honest Bridge B team just happened to be at the wrong end of it.Old " One goal a season" Noel Donnellan hits a 25 yard unstopable volley start with his right!!This is followed by Tom O Hare's flick over his man and a 20 yard lobbed volley to the back of the net .Cheeky buries a shot from 15 yards after great passing by OHare and BJ.Razor hits a 23 yarder with his left to the top of the net.BJ hits the bar with a 30 yarder.BJ cuts in from the right and hits acurled shot from 30 yards into the bottom left hand corner.Cheeky dances around the defence throws a Ronaldino type dummy and then sticks the ball in the bottom corner.

And their keeper played well and pulled off some excellent saves!!!!

Ya some quality goals last night, but what about Alex and Bridge Celtic keeper
clash, funniest thing ive seen in a football game in years
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

in fairness celtic battled hard and were unlucky to go in 2 down at half time...well deserved win by newtown their fitness and class in front of goal was the difference on the night.....the first two goals were absolute crackers and the other 4 werent half bad either....

best of luck to ye in the semis....

Was talking to 1 of the players last night and he told me that Clare play 3 at the back and that the pitch was huge, he said that when AFL sent the ball up front that they had loads of time to do what they wanted, surely if that was the case then a normal 4 at the back would have helped. I don't think(maybe i'm wrong) any club in the Clare league play 3 at the back so why confuse things at OT level, surley the players would be more comfortable with the 4-4-2 formation.

Oh ya, the match cancellations prior to this game, what good did it do???

Bridge Celtic big number 10 is a very good player and wouldn't look out of place in Premier imo, He held the ball up well and has a few good touches aswell.Your right tough, Newtown finished their chances well.

Agreed and never stopped trying to play football.

What Newtown wouldnt give to have shared some of those goals in their recent poor league run!!!!

Re the clash of the Titans beteen Alex and the Bridge keeper Dave Byrne.I thought one of them was going to see sense and pull out.It was like slow motion and the veritable immovable object meeting the unstopable force.
They collapsed in a heap ,got up,not a word and were ready for more.Cracking stuff!!!!!

Your talking rubbish man.We are playing them friday and we wanted to play them at the weekend instead. We were told where to go.So can you explain how it suits both teams.I can also remember asking for a weekday game rather than the weekend.Again we were told where to go.Why do bridge celtic, newtown and avenue not have weekends off?Because they would be told where to go.The clare league want Moher to win the league. Why? I dont know. While im at it can i express my delight at the Oscar trainers getting knocked out.Now we can get on with the league. No disrespect to the players

Sorry Side Cutter you misunderstood my point.
The game should only go ahead on a Friaday night "IF IT SUITS BOTH TEAMS". It obviosuly doesnt suit your side so then it should be played on a Sunday. Travelling to Moher on a Friday evening will not suit any team (other than Moher).
If you and other teams were told where to go then its obviously one rule for Moher and one for everyone else. IMO your club should tell the league when your side IS AVAILABLE to play the same as Moher have done. If every team down to play on a Friday or Monday in Moher objected then the league couldnt throw you all out.
Another point - how come Moher have so many home games left (on Mondays and Friday evenings) Its miles from anywhere else in the county.

the thing with moher is nothing short of total bulls.. ....its an absolute disgrace that the clare league are going down on their kneees for moher when every other team is being ridden up the ........... who cares if moher cant get 11 on sundays like EVERYONE else...they shud be told where to go.... moher are a good side and all but how would the table look if they didnt get special treatment?? and if other teams who play when theyre asked all the time were given ONE FREE weekend when they requested???

I think he was being sarcastic. Perhaps it's not Moher's doing, maybe the only ref who will travel to Moher is a devout catholic so won't work on a Sunday.
