probably best club pitches in the county but you have to factor in travel as well. Moher travelling to Newmarket is a lot further than Newtown so Ennis and Doora the most appropriate venue. Just as long as they dont put it at Lee's Road. Shannon the best venue for the 2nd game imo

Play the Moher , Newtown on a Friday evening at 6.30 in Newmarket and let the Moher boys see the difficulties that these times and distances cause.

I would imagine both semi finals will be played in Doora.

What happens if Mohar win their games in hand and finish with same points as Bridge Celtic with no games to play.I know that the League in Clare can't be won on most goals scored so its a play off. Just say this happens and Mohar win the playoff, does this not make the hole thing a bit of a farse as Bridge would have had a better goal difference in the first place and would have been top of the League.
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

bit of a farce alright ,, but in fairness playoff ruling has been in place for a good few years now so everybody should be well aware of it..

If Moher win all their games, they win the league... They have to beat Bridge Celtic next Sunday to do so.

Moher would have 40 points and BC would end up with 37 points max..

    May the best team win!!

P.s - If there was a playoff, whos to say it wouldn't be played in Lahinch on a Monday Evening???

You cannot apply goal difference in junior football because of the possibility of walkovers. This did happen in 85/86 when Newtown,Avenue and Newmarket ended level.Newmarket had beaten Syntex 12 nil,Newtown got a walkover(no goals scored) and a walkover against Kilmaley (no goals scored)who Newmarket beat 7 nil .I cant remember Avenues details. It was published in the CC that there was a 3 way playoff full page.Newmarket objected saying they won it on goal difference. The Clare League contacted Munster whose advice to them was and I quote"Award it to Newmarket and see what the other 2 do"!!!!!!Obviously this was not made known to the clubs.
The outcome was the Clare League took their advice and took the easy option and gave it to Newmarket.Neither Newtown nor Avenue wanted a league title decided by a committee so did not appeal.
BUT Newmarket did and were awarded the title .
Damien Lindsay, captain of Newtown, comment was "F### them we will win it next year anyway,we dont need it that bad".He was right they won it on their 10th anniversary.

How about that for a piece of history!!!!!

I never realised Newmarket were desperate to win any trophy back then?? i always thought the trophys came easily..

On another point..great result for Newmarket up in Moher last night. Could go along way to their survival. I heard Frankie coote was a disgrace..but then again nothing new there..the man is constantly on a power trip..he has that townie aura about him..!!

    Chapter 2

A group of men known as the Olympians, they carry the hopes and fears of many on their young shoulders, that they can vanquish this monster whose tentacles are spreading to the once powerful bastions of a game called soccer in Clare. Hopes are high that at least a wound can be inflicted on these giants so that the job can be completed by another formerly feared group of men from Tradaree. This is ever looking less and less likely because the stories abound of sorcery and witchcraft been part of the armoury of the men who worship the cliffs. They have taken over the minds , it is said of the leaders and organisers of said battles and have managed to engage all comers at times when they are at their weakest. This they say is only happening because of these giants worship of another God known far and wide in the country of Hibernia as the GAA. Let us hope that these barve 11 from Olympia do not become the latest sacrifices to the Gods that live , it is said at the bottom of the cliffs and only rise as the sun rises on the day of the Moon and again on the twilight of the week.
All hail , all hail the men from the cliffs have been wounded ,the Olympians wounded the creature ,but have rturned with tales of time being distorted so no one really knows how long they were gone for. This battle was soon followed up by another, this time with the men from Tradaree who fortified by the endevours of a weekend of drinking mead and terrifying the wenches arround loughsof Killarney headed to the fabled land of the cliffs without an ounce of fear and came back triumphant. Though the creature still lurks ominously close it appears that thier powers are dwindling. This is evidenced by the fact that theorganisers of these battles are showing signs of free thinking. No longer are the men form the cliffs able to arrange the battles when others are weak. These mythical creatures have been cohearst in to leaving their lair and will tarvel at early dawn to the meet the men from the east in a battle on the day of the Sun. Maybe the God they worship has vacated his throne on this day allowing these creatures to wander further afield in search of more glories......will it turnout that these myhical creatures were but mear men feeding on the paranoia of the many to gain a foot hold in what was once their domain, we can only wait and see............
