Does anyone know where you would get odds on the teams left in the cup to win it out. Is there any bookies that does that in Clare

I don't see how Newmarket are underdogs. I do think Corofin will win but it will take huge improvement on performances this year. A number of key players have had a loss of form so on that basis and the fact newmarket are a premier team they would have to be the favourites.

If you saw the game against Kilkishen you wouldn't be impressed. Maybe we can pull a big performance for a one off game.

have a feeling Lifford B could turn over Burren. Havent seen the burren lads play but i know the Lifford B team are going well and will take a good team to beat them.
I also fancy Corofin.... First is going to love me for saying this , but i dont think the cup tops the agenda in newmarket. Corofin will be defending their title and of all the teams in the league Ballycar will probably suit Corofin.
2 mouth watering ties... newtown bridge... im going for home win
also the battle of the townies.... ahh this thread has been much too quiet this year, hopefully it will sring into life soon

    Plasticpitch welcome back.
The cup is very much on Newmarkets agenda and plus the fact Corofin knocked Newmarket out of the cup two years ago still rancours with the lads. 2000 was the last time Newmarket won it and thats along time.
The first priority is to avoid relegation which I beleive they will ,but the losses against Moher and Olympic have put a certain level of doubt in peoples minds. The club does not want to start next season in the first division what with the new pitch. No one will take Corofin for granted what with them being the cup winners for the last two seasons but as Shelbourne has said Newmarket will love the underdog tag.

More on the relegation issue than the cup but hs anyone ever noticed when a clubs committee becomes preoccupied with a new developement the focus goes off their teams and they nearly always suffer.Remember Newtown, won the League in Ballycasey but the signs were showing and were relegated the next season.Look at Lifford this year with their new grounds,St Pats are in trouble after just moving in to their new home??The bridge did well in their first few years in the new ground but with the current very unlucky problem with one side of the ground, they are spluttering.I just hope and I mean this sincerely ,bearing in mind that noone has an automatic right to premiership status, that Newmarkets first game on their new pitch is NOT in the First Division!!!
As far as I know they have never been out of the topflight and their is noone else who can say that .

On a more humorous note it will sicken us if we dont get to beat them on their new pitch after having to play up the Hill of Golgotha for 30 years or more!!!!

Come on the Village we need you in the Premier

Interesting you also believe Corofin are favourites. I can't ever remember a team in the first division being favourites against a premier team. I believe particularly with home advantage Newmarket have to be favourites and we also love the underdog tag.

All due respect young lad, Corofin are cup champions 2 years running but i don't think its fair to give Newmarket the underdog tag, it'll be an even game but we all know in cup football anything can happen... to this weeks fixtures, big game in shannon this week i hear both teams are missing a few heads.. any predictions!?

What players are missing from the two sides say it will be a fairly close game Derby games always are not alot between both teams think either 1-0 to newtown or 0-0 draw

I heard Rob Wall will be out for a few weeks, he'll be sickened as i'd say he'd love a bash at his old club, i think there are another couple of uncertainties in the Olympic camp. Newtown were missing Eamonn o'neill on sunday against cratloe through injury, another player who'd love to play against his old team as he used to play for Oly, Newtown still missing 2 major players in Ryan Kelly and Anto White, not to mention the loss of davy. They have a decent squad down at Newtown though and i reckon your right about it being a close game i'll go for a 2-1 home win. If its on, weather doesn't look good and the newtown pitch is surely cut up from last week!? Any idea Shelbourne?

Shelbourne I like the description of the Hill. Liking Newmarket to the place where our Lord and saviour was crucified shows a lot of imagination.
But from what I remember about the games in Newmarket we always let the visitors play at least 45mins down the hill too.

And dont think we didnt appreciate your kind gesture but it was the visiting team that was always crucified!!!.Only difference out there was you didnt get 3 days to rise up again......even if you could!!!!

Id say the pitch will make it ok but wont be great.Im not that convince about the home team though. An awfull lot of important people missing. One thing though is they are easily the hardest to score against Newtown team I have ever seen. The problem start after that.

usually visitors if lost toss were made to play down hill in first half
and you needed a 2-3 nil lead to face the newmarket blitz in the second half.. must add it was very rare to get a good lead against newmarket back in the good old day ..

yeah its gonna be very close but lookin at the table you have to fancy newtown although olympic aren't on a bad run.. 10-0 win in their last game, doesn't look like they have a problem in front of goal. that seems to be where newtown are struggling.

Moher Celtic A V Rinnanna Rovers i'd say everyone in the top half will be lookin for a rovers win in this game. whats the story with cup matches on paddys weekend? has there been matches on paddys weekend in the past? wonder will it cause any problems with players going away for the weekend etc.
