    Crafty git or child killer?

Questions raised about JonBenet murder confession -CNN

Questions are being raised about the confession of a 41-year-old man who claims he killed child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey in the United States ten years ago.
John Mark Karr was arrested in Thailand yesterday and later admitted killing the six-year-old, but he insisted her death was an accident.

Thai police say he confessed to drugging and raping her before her death.

Karr has been charged by the US authorities with murder, kidnap and sexual assault, but US officials are urging people not to jump to conclusions or rush to judgement.

Investigators have pointed out that prosecutors will need more evidence than just a confession, while Karr's ex-wife has told reporters that he was with her in Alabama at the time of the 1996 murder.

Karr has also apparently told the authorities that he picked JonBenet up from school before drugging and raping her.

However, the killing actually happened during the Christmas holiday season and the autopsy on her body returned no evidence of drugs and made no conclusions about whether she was raped.

If you ask me, this guy sees this as an opportunity to get extradited back to the States rather than rot and die in a Thai prison. He's definitely a sick sick bastrad though, and the FBI will have a field day with him and his laptop....all the schools he 'taught' in he left his legacy. He spent a lot of time 'working' in the post tsunami countries also...you can draw your own inferences.

He wasn't in prison though was he therefore he wouldn't need to get extradited, he could just get a flight home and admit it there

Definately not as cut and dried as some people will think though.

He is facing other sex charges and as a result the US Government were seeking to extradite him. He was also under investigation in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, and it was only a matter of time before the net closed in on him.

I think he weighed up his options and figured that he'd be better off at home.

It appears that his DNA was not a match for the DNA found on the body and the murder charges have been dropped. He will be charged with other offences though.

I didn't think this case could become any more weird.

Only if the DA in Colorado agrees to extradite him to California, where he is wanted. Even if they do, he can fight the extradition and remain free in due course.

He was, I believe, about to face serious charges relating to missing Tsunami children, which I believe, led to him making up the JonBenet story to guarantee a ticket home...

    As I said..........crafty git....

    The whole story is bizzare!
Lets not lose sight of the fact that there is still no one in custody for the murder of JonBenet.

I believe that her parents put her in danger by dressing her like an adult and exposing her to a very sinister practice.

Her father in particular was a very strong suspect in her death for a long time. I don't know whether or not this is still the case.
