Cork City Official Supporters Club Presents…

    REBEL EVOLUTION 2006!

The Cork City Official Supporters Club next event will be a Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (Playstation 2) tournament, to be held in the club shop (96 Patrick Street) between Monday August 28th and Saturday September 16th.

The cost of entry is just 10euro. Registration forms and rules are available from the club shop. It will operate on a first come first serve basis so sign-up now to avoid disappointment! The closing date for registration will be Thursday 24th August.

The entry fees paid will be split three ways. 40% will go towards the prize fund, 40% will go to a very worthwhile cause, St. John’s Ambulance (who were so helpful to us during our Midsummer Madness family fun day) and 20% will go towards future CCOSC events.

    The format is as follows:

Each day (for approximately two weeks), 8 competitors will take part. They will be split up into two groups of four. Everyone in the group plays each other once, in 5 minute games. The winner of both groups will then face off in one ten minute game, and the winner of that match will advance to the knockout stage. This process is completed until all the groups have been decided. Details for the knockout stage will then be announced (it will most likely take place on one day).

We would like to thank the following businesses and shops for contributing spot prizes and sponsorship:

    Maddens
    Plugged Records
    RayGun
    Vibes and Scribes
    Matthews Sports
    Smyths Toys
    Sound Store
    Golden Discs
    Cork City FC

For any further information on this event, please don't hesitate to contact us through any of the following channels.

Make it 10 minute matches, the hardcore players demand it. 5 minutes isnt enough time.

    Good luck.

Knockout stages are 10 mins .... if you are good enough you'll get a 10 min game.

Crap players can frustrate a decent player over 5 minutes but not 10. Really depends on whether you want to have another one, it is a great idea and will work out very well for you.

But you'll have 15 mins ... fair enough in one game yeah but if you are frustrated in all three games i think it might be that the players isn't as good as they thought.

I did groups last time with 5 minute games with 12 players 8 not coming back this week all bitching about 5 minute games knockout after that were 10. Each group had 3 skilled players and 3 new players, the eventual winner didnt bitch and won every single game.

I bringing 5 consoles this week so can cater for more, if your stuck for time get another ps2.
