Gufct to be fair there was only about 4 regular GUFC fans on the Ireland bus yesterday AFAIK.Infact PD was the only member on this forum there i think.

Billy Clery and Philip Reilly are both available again after suspension. Derek O'Brien misses out with suspension and might be replaced by Conor Gethins who returns to the squad after missing out last Friday. Raf Cretaro has returned to action with the u21's but may need a few more games before he returns to the senior setup. www.galwayunitedfc.ie
Yer losing 1-0. 35 mins left.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
1-0 FT. That puts Dundalk on top of the table.

Where to from here? we have lost further ground on the champions elect. More worryingly we havent scored from play in three games not the form of promotion hopefuls. I have two words to say Damien Dupuy. Anyone listen to the game on the net?
"Are those my feet" Fr Jack Hackett
to the game but even with broadband i kept losing the connection,id hear about 2 mins of it then it would cut out for another few mins so i just gave up after awhile.its a good idea to have the games on the radio though, dont suppose gbfm could do that but then it will probably hit attendances i guess with all the barstoolers we have around here.
anyway as i said in another thread,we are turning into the drogs, goals are drying up.its a hard place to get a result though but more ground has been lost.next few games are not as hard and still a good bit left to go,no need for panic.

First time seeing Oriels Plastic Pitch and hopefully the last.It shouldnt be allowed and it was a very strange experience watching a game on it.Cant blame the pitch on the result and a bad mistake by wes was the only difference between the sides.
We never settled although Kieran Foley was head and shoulders above everyone and Fran made a huge difference when he came on. Missed passes ,fresh airs and slips on both sides were the order of the day on a surface that is only good for training on.
Dundalk support was loud and proud all night and they had over 200 in their kop on the far side and made our 9 supporters feel very lost.
We seem to have this idea that the Shams game in October will sort everyting in this division but I think Dundalk and Cobh are equally as strong as ourselves and Rovers.![]()
black balls.Actually the funny thing is after the teams had done their warm ups there were two perfect 8's in both halves for the entire game. The SFA made Dunfermline dig up theirs after one season and the FAI should do the same.
Dundalk did have great support in fairness - hughes did have a fine touch
more water!
if you dont count that mistake by the keeper in the home game against limerick - its 5 games since a united player stuck a ball true into the back of the net from play - terrible stuff
more water!
We never win up there so last night was probably no surprise. We haven't scored a proper goal in ages (all we have in recent games are penalties, an own-goal and that Mooney howler). I think Murph's volley in Monaghan was the last good strike.
Ciaran Foley was superb last night. I don't really agree about the surface Tommy and would not offer it as an excuse. The ball acts more naturally on it than a few grounds I've seen this summer.
Have to win our next three games now.
we need to win our next four games our we will be going into last series of games well behind the leaders
Althlone home (this will be a tough one, havent beaten athlone in 3 games this season)
Kildare away
cobh away ( a massive game for both clubs)
Killkenny home
I see us shading the athlone game, just, we should beat Kildare & Killkenny handy enough.
as for the cobh game if we could win this one too, we should be close enough to mount a serious title chalange in the final 9 games of the season.
so lets forget about last nights result and get behind Utd starting on sunday 3rd september at 7pm.
see u all there

wasnt offering it as an excuse Johnny its the same for both teams.I just dont like it and the game last night was surreal with very few tackles and lack of physical contact.Agree about ciaran but there were more than 1/2 who didnt perform at all, we seemed very sluggish and the worrying thing was we didnt create any clear cut chances compared to the Harps game.
well we have 17 days before our next competitive match so the players should be rested and ready to go full out and get the result that is needed.
There is no such thing as a handy win in the 1st division. We need the whole team to on top of their game starting on the 3rd September against Athlone.
The worst thing about it been on a Sunday us we'll be down a fair few places going into the match as most teams will play 2 more games before we play again!!
