A few questions on the topic.
1. Do you know of any clubs that play under floodlights in the Junior League?
2. Do you know who installed their lights or of any reputable companies that specialise in such a project?
3. Do you know the cost of such a project?
4. Is there an FAI/FIFA recommended standard of lighting for playng Junior League football under?
5. What are the planning laws like with such a venture

Castlebar Celtic put up floodlights earlier this year, don't know much about prices and stuff, they had just received a €60,000 grant when they applied for planning permission, but they had other sources of income, so i'd say they cost more.

It was built in a residential/administrative area so don't know if they have any restrictions on what times they can have them on until or anything.

each of these manufacturers will have their own installers
3. My club is in the process of this but its part of a big project so i dont know the cost of just lighting the pitch over 100k at a guess. If castlebar got 60k grant - you normally have to have 33% of cost yourself
4. For un- televised matches you need at least 200 lux across the pitch but you will most likely get around 300lux
5. You need planning and depending on location and the usual neighbourly love there could be restriction on time of use as previous poster said

Tralee Dynamos will have floodlights by the end of next month (Most of the money was achieved through grants and some fundraising)
Bohs in the Waterford league regularly play games under floodlights. We installed ours about 18 months ago, did it ourselves though. As in we purchsed the lights and poles and hired electricians to wire them up. We don't have as many lamps as the top-class systems but we informally asked a referee about them once and he said they'd be ok. I think you just have to get you're local league to send out ref's to check if their suitable.
There are definitely planning issues involved, especially as regards the height of the poles.
St. Michaels in Tipperary Town, who play in the TSDL have installed flood lights on their ground and play mid-week games on this pitch. The Irish Amateur Team are playing England on this pitch next month.
Cloonfad in the roscommon premier put in high end lights. I think they comply with eufa lighting standards
