Irish directions in Google Maps?

Just wondering if anyone knows why the directions in google maps is so poor for Ireland? In England and on the continent you can give it dot A and dot B and it'll more than likely come back with directions, here if you're searching outside of any of the main cities or roads, you've no chance.
Likewise the list of hotels/restaurant/etc is very poor.
With such a large Google centre in Dublin, I did think it was very strange.

because no one cares about ireland only we irish!!
