Thumbs up The reason Gretna lost tonight

Because they dont have the bottle, like their fans ..... manifested in the likes of SuperGretna ..... i bet he wont even show up for the rest of the tie.

So if you are wondering .... That is why Gretna lost !!
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Hopefully people stand up and take notice of the significant progress that has been made by our league, Its about time club football here was given some credit, one if not more of our clubs should be in FIFA 2008 <i dont think any of ours made it into FIFA 2007> Why do the scottish and english lower divisions merit inclusion? Its certainly not because of their skill at football. Its disappointing that our own national broadcaster RTE would not show this match, i hope they show the second leg now after that performance, which made us all proud to support our league.

In this country, no where else though .... we dont want any Euro teams doing their homework now do we. All the rest i agree with, although its funny to watch their u-turn's though .... it shows how pathetic they are and how poorly the read the Irish game in the last five years. Bringing us the news, ffs ... they are barely catching on now and we've all knew for years.

They should be showing Drogheda. Derry v Gretna is a formality (touch wood) whereas Drogs are still in with a shout and it should make a good spectacle with a good crowd at Dayler.

I think A Face is right, Gretna lacked bottle tonight whereas Derry had it in abundance.

Caught 10 minutes after training, just in time to see the 2nd and 3rd Derry goals and what goals they were! Great stuff lads, delighted for them and the EL.

having gone to the game my mate and I decided there were several reasons

    1. fitness
    2. bottle
    3. the fans _ I felt sorry for the gretna fans- plenty of numbers- not a clue what to do in that scenario though (old people and kids were at least half their number)
    4. derry were man for man bigger and in m any cases better players. gretna were pretty nippy though
    5. derry got their first touch under control much faster

finishing- gretna had their chances int he first half and couldn't finish - derry on the other hand converted more than half of their chances.

    great game to be at

fitness was the main thing lads, gretna severly lacked any of it. second half showed this, where simple things like controlling hte ball let them down...

what is being said on their forum?
