In defence of Leeza he has only recently become a member of the eL fans and since we dont have fights or trouble (unless we run outta mondogs...then u gotta battle ur way thro bout 8 children to try and ensure u get the last one) he has not had to witness such scenes.

StickyJoe....become a Mons fan....you will be joining a rather exclusive club with approximately 150 part time members who enjoy some football while causing very little upset!

As a Bohs fan I am less than interested than attending Rovers Bohs matches any more due to the element that follow both (and many other) clubs. Reading about tyre slashing and bottle throwing at a recent Galway Athlone tie shows this element are everywhere. No wonder bar-stoolers are happy to watch football on tv
Agreed. Believe it or not, I have yet to witness any actual handbags between fans at a national league game, which isn't to say that there hasn't been any. But incident-free games are not newsworthy, so the perception is that everyone who follows Irish football is some sort of street-fighting maniac or closet hoolie supporter.
We should never underestimate the depth of ignorance out there.

    Peader,

You are an arsehole and one of the least intelligent people I have ever met, on the internet or in real life.

Ok, before I request that you are banned for a personal attack, can you explain what bigotry is and show examples of it in my post?

if that was the case then attendances in italy england etc would also be in their hundreds or abysmally low thousands.

the above "reason" is just one of many excuses for people (mainly barstoolers) to avoid going to EL games

if you dont want to get involved in foghting at football then you wont. a small degree of sense and wariness is more than enough to avoid being caught up in trouble
    no need to overhype it.

doubt this trouble made it into the papers. they only go on about trouble when its Rovers.

Don't think I over hyped it. Also when I lived in Phibsboro' it was hard to avoid scummers being chased down my avenue by the cops as I was about to head over to a Rovers game. Bits and pieces of damage done to cars (not hyped up or reported) and pretty hard to avoid as I was in my front room!

There are summers about and I hope they don't latch onto the LOI and use it as a vechicle to start rows, hurl abuse etc. It is an element to our game and one that needs to be stamped out before over-hyping will be the least of the problems.

Leeza, for the first time ever, I agree wholeheartedly with Peadar.

    Good God,

Peadar one of the least intelligent? On the contrary he is one of the most knowledgeable, personable and amiable around even if he's a Corkie

He suggests I don't understand what the meaning of the word 'bigotry' is, and then pokes fun at my age... Is this the actions of a mature, rational adult? Your bigotry, sir, is self-evident when you poke fun at my age, quoting a post I have made in this thread, and a post I have made in another one and then of course appearing to be all smarmy and smug.

Maybe you should learn the meaning of the word 'bigotry' before you accuse someone else of its meaning, when its perfectly obvious through your actions, and denial of your self-evidential bigotry towards those of a lower age, that you are in fact an idiot.

And I'm sorry if you think this is a personal attack, but lets be honest, your the one who threw puches first.

Also, you are ageist, which is a branch of bigotry.

But hey, lets forget about this... Its just the internet :P

    quickly pass the blame on.

    Your home game your problem!

CCTV in the ground would be a big help!

Also I doubt you had anywhere near the correct number of stewards-to-supports as per UEFA licensing!
