Billy Woods is set to make his first appearance for Cork City since his return from Shamrock Rovers in Friday night's clash with UCD at Turner's Cross. Woods was ruled out for City's opener with Shels due to an ankle injury, but has recovered in the two weeks since.

One of Liam Murphy's other pre-season signings, ex-Longford midfielder Alan Reynolds, is also available for selection, having served his one-game suspension.

Declan Daly has resumed light training this week, but is still unavailable along with James Mulligan, Greg O'Halloran and Conor O'Grady.

City have failed to beat their bogey team in the last five outings. A Pat Morley brace in October 2000 secured their most recent win over the Students in a 2-1 home victory.

Question who will be dropped then?

after the way the team played against shels who will be left off the team to make way for woods ? (that is if billy does make the starting lineup).

also, the more you hear about shels and their performances since, the more unimpressed i get about the quality of their team. our real strength will be measured against Bohs or Pats.

With Conor still out who'll play centre midfield? With Doolin still playing (think played the 90mins the other week) maybe we need someone to stay close to him & ensure he doesn't move far away from his own penalty area.......?

good point pete. the team and management badly underestimated the impact doolin would have on the game when they played last dec. he ran the show and we lost 2-0

if bennett and colin t play in midfield then i reckon colin T might do the man marking job on him. it would have better to have greg in there with o'grady but it ain't going to happen for a while yet either way it is vital to watch doolin.

this will be a big test for the team

Woods and Reynolds set to start

    [eleven-a-side.com]
Cork City boss Liam Murphy is set to give Alan Reynolds and Billy Woods their first appearances for the club against UCD at Turner’s Park, Kick-Off at 7.45pm.

Woods, who returned to City following a spell at Shamrock Rovers, missed the Leesiders’ 3-0 opening day win over Shelbourne, but has now recovered from an ankle injury sustained in pre-season.

Ex-Longford Town midfielder Alan Reynolds is also set to make his debut after serving a one-match ban.

    crowd trouble

If we ever had crowd trouble at an away game...(or any game for that matter) i'd be proud to have enough of us there to be called a crowd.

No pineapple juice inside the ground this time around

    A.

PS - Like Schumi i'm not optimistic either but i haven't seen a game yet this season. Still, taking the lead against Bohs sounded great, then from what i hear we shut up shop which sounds typically crap. The result v Bray was grand. Hopefully we can come away from Cork without a defeat and not a poor show from our first three. I get the feeling we're going to have a hard time staying up this season unless we improve on last season. Doolin showed some really promising signs last year and hopefully it'll come good.

Getting Sean Finn back is a big plus. Not worried about Grogan. he hardly ever played and when he did at the end of last season he never really shone anyway (A Pity cos he could have been a great player for the term).

I can see the game being a draw. I get the feeling Cork will expect to win and for this reason i think they might be a little shocked if things don't go their way early on. Looking forward to it anyway. At last i can get to a game!

I can't think of the last time I saw us even play well against UCD at the Cross, but I'm hoping that my enforced absense will reverse the trend. Have to make do my aertel online for score updates I suppose. We need a good start - we always seem to expect to beat UCD from the outset but the inevitable happens once the game kicks off and more often than not we are completely outplayed by them.
    Effenberg played like my grandmother!
