    McDonnell takes PFAI position

    From Aertel:

UCD stalwart Tony McDonnell has been
elected as the new Chairman of the
    Professional Footballers' Association
    of Ireland.

    McDonnell takes over from Stephen
McGuinness who will remain with the
    Association as Players' Relations
    Officer.

The UCD midfielder has a vast wealth of
league and cup experience having played
in over 300 games and has scored over
    30 goals.

McDonnell, who is in his 14th season
with UCD, has been on the PFAI
    Management Committee for three years.

    Anymore on this ??
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
