your spouting nonsense with your "parochial rivalries" comments.we're not talking of two sh!tty gaa clubs from the arse end of roscommon.
Rovers bohez is a city Derby.the only big derby/real game in the whole league.
its ,although on a smaller scale, just like Inter-Milan, Roma-Lazio, Boca-River. its a derby being played in a city of 1million people. how is it parochial?? would you call them parochial rivalries??![]()
steve, you are flogging a dead horse here. its really not rovers and bohs fault that more people want to watch us play than you two, even if you are flying higher.
99% of the Irish population arent aware of the rivalry?i think its time you gave it a rest now, dont you?
you obviously havent spent much time in dublin, but trust me, everyone, including non footie types, is aware that what the 'derby' game is.
He still thinks Rovers-Bohs is the equivalent of Derry-Institute. He has no concept of what a derby in the LOI actually means. The nearest derby for his side this season is against a team who are 100kms+ away.Originally Posted by anto eile
And another thing, Derry and Shels have been on tv enough times this year already. Time for the public to watch someone else for a change, and see a big crowd.
Do you honestly think if we win the league that we will not be in the new premier next year?![]()
We have more chance of winning the first than winning our Cup back IMO.

Dcfcsteve this is the biggest derby in our league and the tie of the round. You will have to accept that. This is the one TG4 wanted to televise but were just waiting on dates.

Eh, 'cos it is without a shadow of a doubt.....
Steve, I'd like to cordially invite you to Tolka Park on Aug 25. I guarantee you an atmosphere unknown at any other game between eL teams - intense stomach-churning rivalry, biggest crowd of the round, mindless passion, and yes, sheer hatred.*
If you find anything like it at any game on this island bar Linfield and Glentoran I'll personally pay for your season ticket next year so you can sleep undisturbed at the Brandywell.

*See football derby in any good dictionary.

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

although i appreciate that bohs-shams is the only real derby in the league having seen all 4 teams play this season i would far rather watch shels-derry.

Possibly but as you're involved it, your opinion can't really be objective. For me Pats v Shels during the Marney years was by far the most intense thing I've seen. Been at a few Rovers/Bohs games and been bored to tears, on and off the field. Even the inchicore "riot"was a joke. You're in it, and thats cool, but as an outsider, its honestly not tht intense.
Spot on. Best game on the Friday no doubt. Its also, IMO, the most interesting tie of the round. Derry's game on the Sunday so no chance of being on TV
