NOC was in the papers yesterday saying that this season has been something of a rollercoaster ride for Limerick FC, judging by the disaster of recent weeks I'd say that rollercoaster has come off the tracks and crashed into a group of special needs kids on a school day trip! O'Connor Out!!!

how many more goals is that dope mooney going to cost limerick the man is a very poor goalkeeper he does not know either to come off his line or stay on it hopeless.

there are premier teams in limerick that would beat that limerick side im not joking i see better standard of football on a sunday morning limerick for some reason limerick can not pass the ball they put three or fours passes together and they lose it. pike, balla, fairview, carew park, would give limerick a game and for the record alot of people at limerick matches say the same thing im sure ye heard it from diff people and they only charge E3.

Come on LFC in Exile How many more Sh**te games do we have to suffer ? Or are we happy to stay in Div:1 forever

Fialure to Hold on to Players (Finny), Make tactial Substituions, Change Formations, Bring in strength to the Squad, Maintain confidence levels and play players in their favoured positions, Take players on Loan and not play them, not replace the Goalkeeper when needed....Whose Fault is that

Thomas72 is right some of the Limerick Junior football sides are better than some of the stuff we are watching presently

Judging by the crowd size last night a lot of people have voted with their feet no more than 150 people there.

The difficulty for me here is that I turn into a NOC defender which I am not. I think he is very limited. However, I'll judge the man on results - and taking the season as a whole we are well placed in a very competitive league.

I would not replace Mooney. I appreciate he has cost us goals recently but he kept about 10 clean sheets previously and everyone was singing his praises. Overall he is a better keeper than Healy, so I would keep him in. What loan players won't he play? Synott and Cooney both played last night. He has strengthened the squad but it is still too thin. As for playing players out of their favoured positions - boo hoo. Its not a kick around in the park. Confidence is a function of winning so confidence was sky high a few weeks ago but naturally its fallen now.

His substitutions are baffling so I wouldn't even try to explain them and I don't believe he has a plan A never mind a plan B.

I didn't see the game last night (the crowd was low but it was a game against the bottom club on a Thursday night when junior players train or play friendlies) but this comparison between junior clubs and LFC always makes me laugh. There is no way that any junior club in the city is consistently better than LFC. This is thrown out every now and then and there is nothing to back it up. We have seen the best junior players step up to First Division standard and compete but hardly set the word on fire. Lets just stop all that nonsense now.

By the way, welcome back Jebus. Things must be looking bad for Limerick when the cassandras are attracted back.

I'll have you know I've been slowly reintroducing myself with sly jabs to NOC for the past few weeks now, but its always nice to be noticed so I'll accept your welcome as LFC's bad weather supporter

But seriously LFC In Exile do we have to go through the painful back and forth of last years should NOC stay of should he go debates? Again all this was going on LAST YEAR, we gave him another year and we're still a mess, time to get him out I think

Not having a go, but that's a load of rubbish. Last year he had a huge squad and ended up letting go of better players than what he kept. He let go of some pretty decent players from Kerry, without even giving them a chance. So extra heads won't matter a jot. The problem with O'Connor is no Plan A or Plan B. Look at our subs - has NOC brought in an alternative option that could allow him to alter his tactics during a game? No. He just keeps bringing in the same type of player that he has in his squad already. The man is clueless and a poor poor manager.

JoeSoap, we all know you have a connection to NOC, so you're going to defend him to the hilt anyway. I agree with you about Mike Kerley my @rse......but it's NOC my @rse as well I'm afraid. I'd like to see Pat Dolan in charge. At least he'll motivate the players and get them playing/having a go. For the past two seasons the players have been looking for a set of keys under NOC, and they still haven't fcukin found them.....

That says it all really doesn't it.
In fairness though, on the sidelines, he does a great impression of a piece of cardboard. You can't help but feel motivated by it, it's riveting.

With that in mind, how about we get an action cardboard cut out of Jose Mourinho or Rafa Benitez and stick it on the sideline? It'll do the same job as O'Connor except the players might try harder.

No offence but Pat Dolan would destroy your club
When he was interviewed for the galway united job he wanted massive wages & a % of each home gate

if NOC goes leaves has the club money to spend on a half decent manager or will ye end up with a ****e local manager?

A man who criticises should be prepared to provide solutions or remedies for the things he criticises, not hide behind keyboards. If anyone has any suggestions on a replacement that can do a better job on the budget currently available, and be prepared to work for a similar salary, then speak up. If not, please stop all this inane farting out the mouth.

I agree that things are far from ideal, but unless people can provide reasonable, sensible alternatives, then why continue to whine and whine and whine??

Do you know what but that is not a bad idea. Okay so the massive wages is one thing but paying the manager a % of the gate is a good idea. He has an incentive then to get bums on seats (or feet on concrete as the case may be). Either by winning or by playing the attractive football many on here crave (I relaise not necessarily exclusive but very rare in Division One) if he gets people in teh gate he gets more money. Everyone wins.

At times I am prone to believing that Noel O'Conner has in fact placed a cardboard cut-out of Noel O'Conner on the sidelines. I'm waiting for strong winds to confirm this suspicion however.
I'm sorry did I just fart?

Why are you the spokesman for the club Joe? Do we have to make ourselves known to you to justify our opinions? I seem to remember last year you were under the assumption that you were connected to the club, however Danny Drew seemed to think otherwise, and through his alias willie_john that was made quite clear on here. So who's hiding behind keyboard? Not me anyway.....

Well you certainly practice what you preach Joe cos nobody has/is doing more inane farting around here than you. Is that a medical condition?? You're like NOC's little puppet, if anyone criticises him, even fairly, you get the hump.

We are suggesting reasonable alternatives. Pat Dolan has been hanging around the club for a while now so it's only natural to assume he is hanging around for a reason. He has a decent track record in the EL, albeit he comes at a cost. But if, as you say, NOC is being paid a budget salary, well Danny Drew is getting what he's paying for isn't he? Cos at this rate we'll be forever in division one. I'll be the first to hold my hands up if NOC brings us to the Premier, but I can't see myself having to do that.

Maybe we'll stop when Limerick win and win and win? Anyway I'd still like to know (and you're someone who may know joe) what sort of contract NOC is on, moreso in the length of it then the actualy salary. If, as rumours have suggested, he is nearly two years into a five year deal, then I don't blame Noel for staying out and squeezing every last tear and penny out of Limerick FC and it's supporters. But if that is the case then again we must look at our chairman, who signed an ill equipped manager to such a long term deal, and probably won't be able to sack him now even if he wants (sven goran erikkson anyone?).

And as far as providi9ng reasonable, sensible alternatives go....well when has that ever been asked or required of football fans, of any club?! we're supposed to whine and puff our chests when things aren't going well for our team, its what all football fans do!

I wouldn't blame DD to be fair. NOC came with a bloated reputation cos of some good European/domestic results with Cork City. With NOC being a Limerick man, DD probably thought he was the ideal candidate to give the job to. His inexperience failed to notice that O'Connor was just a coach at Cork and was working under the huge personality and dressing room presence of Dolan (and i'm not talking about his weight). Dolan is a great man manager and motivator, but not a great coach. NOC is the reverse, thus the problem.

I'd agree though that we're probably stuck with him, for another season after this at least.

When I suggested suitable alternatives instead of whining, I meant just that. People here all have their own agendas and opinions. The on-field problems can be discussed surely without personal insult to Noel O'Connor, Danny Drew, the players, me , 4tothefloor, jebus or anyone else, irrespective of what anybody thinks of anybody else. Yet they never seem to be. Perhaps suggesting alternatives to manager replacements, tactical wrong-doings that could be changed etc are things that should be discussed amongst supporters rather than referring to someone as a cardboard cut-out, or slagging off their trade. I'm not anybodys spokesman, nor do I claim to be, but neither have I ever insulted anyone on this board. I don't intend to start now.

I think that the end of the season is time to assess the situation. The patch is quite bad, but still there are a lot of positives to be drawn, more than there are negatives. Theres still a long way to go in the league, and two cups to be played for; plus a new venture with the FAI owning the lease to Hogan Park.

Nobody is insulting anybody. Who insulted DD, NOC etc personally?? Saying NOC is tactically clueless and not good enough is not an insult, it's an opinion and an educated one at that as we're all regulars at Hogan Park. Jebus saying DD selected the wrong man for the job is not an insult, just an opinion. The cardboard reference by thelimerick is just a joke, a good one but a relevent one and IS a reference to his tactical cluelessness. The only person who's taking insult here is you joe, and that's not surprising 'cos you've been an O'Connor man from day one. Previous to the new regime you were posting opinions here and you didn't seem to have any problem having a go/firing a few insults at the 'three amigos' back then. You're taking the moral ground now though just because it suits you. I have a memory too you know.....

DD got insulted on here a lot last season, but he deserved every bit of it because he was going around Hogan Park insulting fans himself. He seems to have piped down and learned his lesson this season, and as a result you don't see posters having a go at him anymore. Most of us respect him and back what he's trying to achieve.

And if you're referring to my signature as an example of slagging off NOC's trade, you need to lighten up a bit. It's a joke and again a relevent one, because we are butchering our way through this division.

I stand by saying that the fault lies with Danny Drew if he did indeed sign NOC up to a 5 year deal. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY in the Eircom League gets that, especially someone who was a Pat Dolan Number 2 (pun intended, but as joke, not an insult!) and if LFC Head In the Clouds would not take issue with me and my opinions for once, and actually look at what I'm saying he would realise that that is very true
