Can anyone recommend some good German pubs/bars worth visiting in downtown frankfurt.
#1 priority - quality beer and good selection.
#2 Athmosphere/fun
Cheers

Thanks guys ..... Any more recommendations.
I was in Frankfurt for 3 days during the WC, but spent most of my time down at the river where loads of temporary bars had been set up around the Fanfest. That's where all the action seemed to be focused in June. I would suggest trying Sachsenhausen, a wee district directly across the river (5-10 mins walk) from the city centre. It's a lot more atmospheric and 'German' than the main, bustling commerce-orientated centre, with loads of wee bars and restaurants. Of all the cities I visited in June, Frankfurt was my favourite. I'll be flying there on the Fri night and travelling down on the Saturday as well.
The train takes about 90mins.Originally Posted by sligonproud
