Shels 3-0 up courtesy of another goal from Byrne and Rovers 3-0 from another Purcell goal. That takes Shels to 14 goals in their last 3 games. Poor Ollie and the goal bonuses.

Well done to Rovers who really took advantage when we went down to 10 men. They deserved it.

On a final note I would like to say

See you in Tolka whenever we get to play there.

Good win...still doesn't justify Purcell's continual inclusion though..

Of all the games I've seen so far this season and Limerick are the only ones I haven't seen...Athlone have to be the most ahem *physical* side by some margin - kicking anything that moved from the minute 1 to 92 - they must've had a policy of if you're not 6'3, then you're not playing. The 'biggest' wingers I've seen, 'biggest' right back - at least 8 centre-half type players, I felt sorry for Lavine..

that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

I understand that you are excited, but the game in Terryland in October is likely to be far more relevant in deciding where the title is going. That's assuming we haven't pulled away from the pack by then.

As for the game next week, the onus is on Galway to win, because of the games in hand we have on them. With our next 3 matches after it against the bottom 3 sides, a point is more use to us next week than yous.

I would have thought the onus was on Rovers to actually beat one of the top sides.

You win the league by being the best side over 36 games. So far, we are top because after 18 games, with 18 left, we have a GD of +18, with the most points. We would like to beat the top sides, but if it doesn't happen, it's not a disaster. We only have to be the best after 36, that's what matters. We have up to 2 games in hand on most of our rivals. So the onus is on them to catch up. Draws in big games keeps them at arms length from us.
