    Whats happening to Bansha?????

Town strolled to a win in Bansha on sunday and it could have been far worse for the home side if Town hadnt taken the foot off the pedal in the second half. Last year Bansha lokked to have a few promising players and i thought they might build on it this year. In the immortal words of Marvin Gaye "What's going on".

those who think saints and town will have it there own way this season could be in for a shock next week. i fancy peake to take at least a point home from the complex. town very shaky at the back and villa have their house in order

What makes Peake any different than last year....Padraig Fogarty signed back from Saints and that's about it....But still don't recon they'll feature in the shake up at the end. I haven't seen them play yet but will try and see the fixture in the Complex next week.

Fair enough, I didn't hear that they had any more signings. I haven't heard of any of these players. Possibly Gubbi Jordan for the North Tipp league, and if I can recall he previously played with Peake Is David Horan still a regular with Peake ?

I appreciate your faith in Peake this year with their new signings, and really do hope they, or anyone else, can make a challenge for honours this year, which in turn will make the league a bit for interesting !!!!

no unfortunately davy horan is away in italy for the duration of the season. the club have signed three defenders to hopefully free up the attacking options. should have 3 out and out strikers now with ted o connor, barry ryan and paul kirwan. they must avoid positional tampering and give these players a run in their best positions. it is good to see the change in attitude with regards training and saturday night fever however, and hopefully villa can at least give the big two someone else to worry about besides eachother.

Bansha are in trouble at the moment they have alot of players away on holidays and stuff about 7 first team regulars in all. Knew the first two games would yield nothing but they have crashed heavily and the fact that they have lost some of their good young players due to no youth team and Eddy Grace gone from the centre of defence with a broken leg for the season hit's them really hard.Don't know will they pick themselves up only time will tell I guess we'll just have to wait and see them in a week or two when they are at full strength again.

Saw villa play borris the other week. Looked very impressive, totally new team and deserved to win by more really. They were extremely solid at the back and up front new club captain Barry Ryan looked very sharp. With the excellent Ted O’Connor coming back from injury should have no problems scoring whatsoever. Villa will fancy their chances of going to the complex on Sunday and coming away with 3 vital points. When they win on Sunday they will go 5 points clear of the defending champions!!!!

Ur sum-up of villa looks very good i think But I was informed that Barry Ryan looked far from sharp and was replaced near the finish, and for Villa to succeed this season O'Connor and new signing P.Kirwan would be the preferred choice up front with Ryan been the 3rd striker (it's only word of mouth I got) I haven't seen Villa play yet but hope to get up to the Complex on Sunday. O'Connor came on in the 2nd half so obviously will be a while before fully fit and as you say "will have no problems scoring"...

Your confidence is great, "when" they win on Sunday !!!! 5 pts clear after two games.....sher at the rate your going you'll have the league won for Peake by December !!

i would not say that now.but just beware cause the villa are out to get ye at the complex!we were the last team to beat ye in the league and ye wer lucky last year to beat us.so with our new more solid team it will be a close match with villa sneaking it by the odd goal!!its our destiny to be champions this year!!!

ah was just first game of the season so barry ryan sharpness wil improve with time.Barry has been top scorer for villa for the last 5 seasons,so cant see him being third choice!not sure myself bout kirwan.but id say its between ryan and o'connor( he is lookin sublime in training) for the golden boot as wel as a league championship medal!!!

    Bridge lose to Celtic...

Old Bridge had an awful result tonight losing away to Clonmel Celtic 2-1. Paul Kennedy with the 2 goals for Celtic and a late Emmet Ryan peno for Bridge wasn't enough. Bridge didn't deserve anything from the game, too much arguing between players and too many long balls which Clonmel Celtic just cleaned up. Bridge need to get back to their pre-season form quickly or they will have a long hard season.
St.Nicholas couldn't field a team again tonight against Town this time...they should be kicked out of the league.
Why have St.Michaels got all homes games so far (3) and another one next week.....not fair on other teams special treatment for Saints as usual.

Lights On In Cooke, Lights Out For Borris !!

    Saints 5 - 2 Borris

Travelled up to Cooke Park last nite to have a look at Borris and Saints. I should have stayed at home really I'm sure there was better things on TV. Judging by the scoreline it looked like Saints were impressive, but that was not the case. Saints don't look a threat at all. Davy Ryan was missing, O'Sullivan not in goal, they had the Youth Keeper in goals and it showed as well. The ususal scorers, Breen, Walsh and Bargary..etc..etc... Borris were poor to say the least, can't see them anywhere near the top or mid table if they keep going the way they are. They seem to have a full squad out but still of no use to them.

On the other side of things......€5 was the cost to get into the game, a mid-week game, 2nd game in the league...WHAT A JOKE ! I know inflation has hit the country...but that was a f**king joke. Everyone I talked to was very angry with the €5 fee to see the game. Who are Saints trying to kid !! I'll be thinking twice before I head to Cooke Park again.

    Hi guys,im new to this.

As far as im aware, St Michaels pitch Cooke Park is hosting a junior international game aganist England in September so they want to make sure the pitch is in pristine condition so there playing most of there home games now so the pitch will be vacant for 2-4 wk period around the time of the international! I wouldnt agree with this myself, however if you look on the bright side, michaels will have alot of away games near the end of the season and if there in the shake up for honours, it should be more difficult for them to take points away from home! Anyone agree?

As for Peake Villas Barry Ryan being sharp, thats a good one if i ever heard it, the mans about 70 mins fit and then hes out on his feet! I watched a few pre season games and saw the borris game the other night and he looked far from impressive! If OConnor is fit and Kirwan stays with the villa, Ryan will be warming the bench for along time in my opinion!

Saw foggy playing for the villa in the borris game, ran the show for long periods and took alot of the load off donal duggans shoulders, could be the signing of the season! Also impressed with the new look Villa back 4, very tight!

    Den,

WHY KEEP YOUR EYE ON ONE CUP, WHEN YOU CAN HAVE YOUR HANDS ON ALL THE CUPS.

The Amateur International game in on the 20th of September Ire V's Eng so I understand the home game for saints at the minute. As as you said it will be harder for them to pick up away points near the end of the season.

Ryan warming the bench for Villa is the correct statement, and club captain, as someone said above, doesn't guarantee a first place !!!
