I'd have to disagree there.Originally Posted by Block G Raptor
I switched from O2 to Meteor last November and I havent had any
problems with thier coverage ... and I've been all over the place in
the Discover Ireland Division 1.
Girlfriend switched aswell, she travels from Athlone to Cavan for work
and only place she found the coverage to be dodgy was Granard, and
in fairness thats not the only dodgy thing in Granard![]()
Phone bills have been halved since I made the switch.

I agree with Ash....coverage is great. In fact at my parents house the only coverage is Meteor or u start getting Northern Ireland coverage if you have Vodafone or O2. Anyways with Meteor where they dont have coverage they automatically switch you to O2 at no charge so wherever u have O2 at present you will have it if Meteor is low in that area.
I have been with Meteor for almost 2 years now and find them very easy to deal with and I am spending a lot less money. I used to have bills of €200+ a month with Vodafone (mostly from text!) Now I spend on average €80 a month and have free texts to about 4 of my mates and my mum, sister, brother and son as they are all meteor. I have free meteor to meteor text and mms for life as long as I top up by €20 a month.
Their website is easy to navigate too.
All in all I am a happy meteor bunny!
Disagree. Got a metoer sim there about 6 weeks ago and coverage is spot on. very cheap aswell.Originally Posted by Block G Raptor
Meteor phones have always worked well for me in the midlands... best pricing too pay as you go. what's the 3 network like in Ireland by the way? they've obviously recently started up in Ireland, but could never get reception on my UK phone...Originally Posted by De Town

No, they rent the lines from other network providers so unless they don't rent the full coverage they'd have the same, although personally I'd say its about 90% of the others...Originally Posted by Block G Raptor

I've been a Vodafone customer myself for the guts of over 5 years now and in general I've been quite pleaased, they're relatively pricey but coverage is always top notch for me, also the 3G video calls which I make quite a few of are good qual [Nokia N70]
I also carry a crap Motorolla L7 for Meteor free texts with the misses, and meteor are IMO god awful apart from this offer.
No real experience with o2 just wondering are people happy with their networks etc. ?
No I do not work for any regulatory boards![]()
j'accuse!
I've been with o2 for years now and I find it grand. Coverage is always fine for me and the new offer they have running of 1c calls and texts to other o2 customers at weekends is great!
Ever get the feelin' you have been cheated?
meteor coverage is awful for me
What's 3 coverage like over Ireland?

Generally I hear bad things about it's coverage.

I don't know if this a Meteor only problem but last week i was trying to send texts from Vodafone account & the only problems i had were to a Meteor number...
Im a Meteor man myself... no, not an Eddie M. either!![]()
With em now for 2 & a half yrs... was with 02 (086) prior to that. Only changed due to the handset I wanted happened to be only on the Meteor network.. now have an 085 no.
Im restricted from certain International calls & txts which is a pain in the rump hole. Sure, txts & calls are cheap.. but that only seems to be if ya live in a world of Meteor heads. Mediocre perks really. Thinkin of convertin back to 'Digi Fone'... a.k.a O2.
Heard the other day Vodafone wanna be the 1st to launch Gaelic in the Language Input.
Might stall so!![]()
If you want to use your phone abroad Meteor would be a bad option. You have to pay €60 to be able to use the roaming service. So if you are going to use less than €60 while on holidays/abroad it would work out very expensive. O2 are the best for international roaming.
AFAIK the €60 is only for customers who have been with Metor for less thanOriginally Posted by DmanDmythDledge
