He lasted the full 90.
Brief overview of Gibson's impact on Everton since returning to their first team ahead of the game against Newcastle this weekend: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/...lash-newcastle
Good article.

"I don't mean any disrespect here when I say this, but we've got a manager who speaks English and sometimes the players weren't really understanding what was going on at times under Trapattoni.
"Now we fully understand what's expected of us, we fully understand what we're doing, set-pieces, formations, shape. So I think it's been better since the new gaffer's come in. I think it gives us a better chance overall."
Broken metatarsal. Everton hoping it won't require surgery: http://www.the42.ie/difficult-season...30819-Apr2015/
We've not really heard much about the recurring groin problem since he left the Ireland squad. Presumably it will just keep recurring every few games without him undergoing the surgery that he was set to go through before Moyes departed. For how long would such surgery keep him out and for how long might this broken metatarsal keep him out?
Martinez referred to the groin strain as being of the stomach variety so potentially it isn't directly related to the recurring ones he had in the thigh. Maybe he is indeed over them without having the surgery, or maybe it would flare up again after a longer run of games. Anyhow, this latest injury is just rotten bad luck. He only returned to training on Friday and he apparently has rolled the ankle, went home seemingly fine and then came in Saturday morning with it swollen and it turns out to be a fractured metatarsal. Too early to tell if he'll need surgery or the prognosis.

Ruled out for the rest of the season and must be a doubt for Scotland: http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/socc...ress-1.2200581
Everton heavily linked with Tom Cleverley.
It may be bias on my part but I think Gibson is a far better player than Cleverley, who I have never been impressed with. Granted he actually possesses the ability to remain fit for more than three consecutive games.
"In hindsight, looking back maybe Trapattoni was right, that I needed to leave to play football elsewhere. I left and came here under David Moyes and played nearly every game when I was fit, so he might have been right. But, like you said, I was going to do everything to try and stay there."
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Everton planning contract talks with Gibbo.
Turns out Gibson did in fact end up having a minor surgery on his abductor muscle to "make sure his pelvic area is ready". Martinez has made comments saying that he's still a few weeks away/"end of august", although whether that means full fitness/ready to play or ready to make a return to full training I don't know. Maybe he'll be ready for another run-out against Gibraltar.

Sllightly expanded version of the comments:
“Darron Gibson had a problem from last season. Darron hasn’t been able to get back fully fit since he broke his metatarsal, he has gone just for a straightforward procedure in his abductor and he should be back in the next 14 to 15 days,”

Darron is in a spot of bother

He's in trouble now. Hit a cyclist while driving drunk.

edit: Beaten to it by a few seconds!
a while since he has hit the target.![]()
The value of the car is a crucial part of the story of course, and his salary! Anyway, that's really not good.
My God, the way that his written. His car, his salary, his house (twice). He is being charged with drink driving, not being rich.
That doesn't sound good at all. Thankfully nobody was seriously hurt.
The allegations are very serious. Skipping the scene makes things miles worse. Crashing into a pump too. The visual image I have is of Jim Hacker driving his car home while drunk in Yes Minister in the 80s. Anyone remember that? I'm sure it's on YouTube.
If the allegations are proven I'd say he could be looking at a pretty serious punishment.
I presume that's the "other Derryman" thing MON is referring to?
