From the match report on BBC Sport's website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19240566
The giant Belgian's towering 57th minute header from Darron Gibson's corner finally ended the defiance of United keeper David de Gea, who had kept Everton at bay with a series of outstanding first half saves.

Great result for Everton Moyes, Gibson and indeed Coleman who was on the pitch when they scored,
doubt he changed the game but he was there nonetheless.
I wonder if Darren dropped off a bottle of wine for Sir Alex to drown his sorrows in ???
No I definitely did not mis-read the report. Perhaps mis-wrote my report though![]()

I have to admit, I thought Cleverly was several years younger than he is, and that Gibson got more games than he did.
I agree he's done very well at Everton.
To answer your question, I want him to show that form for Ireland, and convince Trapattoni that he's that much better than a journeyman like Whelan.
You can't spell failure without FAI
But has he done well, I mean he hasnt done badly and is keeping his position but has he done anything out of the ordinary, other than to suggest he may too turn into a PL journeyman.

Yes, he has done well.
Well this time last year lots of people seemed convinced he would be a championship journeyman so I guess PL journeyman is an improvement! If he spent the next 8 years playing every game he is available for in a top 8 premiership team then Id have to say that would be an excellent career and would most certainly mean he was worthy of one of the 2 or 3 centre midfield positions for ireland. I would be amazed but obviously delighted if over the next 8 years we have 3 other centre mids playing every game for a team in the top eight in the premier league. If he ran around like a lunatic and gave the ball away consistenty and then dived into crazy tackles and got sent off petulently when he was been schooled and played in the championship he would be loved by everyone but he would also be keith andrews . The price of love.

Looks like Phil Neville had a read of the same blog: http://www.irishtimes.com/sports/soc...322931369.html
Interestint stats, but that’s a poor pass completion when you consider that is his main aspect of his game should surely be up in the highn 80’s, Joe Allen over the 90% like Scholes

I think the key there is forward passes, passes in the opposition half and final third entires. He's being adventurous with his passing, so while his completion rate is slightly lower than Rodwell he's clearly doing it in more dangerous areas, where there's a higher risk of interceptions and blocks. It would be interesting to compare to someone like Allen.

He'd be more comparable to somebody like Gerrard than Allen, in that he does try the risky through-balls and passes over the top rather than playing the percentages all the time. As good a player as Allen is, his stats are so high primarily because his job is not to create.
