It's a big call by Ferguson, leaving Scholes on the bench with Giggs also out. Let's hope he can seize his opportunity.
Starts tonight away to marseille in the champions league. So does O'Shea

Gibson is being punished by Ferguson for being anonymous against a non-league team
Big night for him. I hope his agent is yelling in his ears to be assertive and look for the ball. And put in the odd tackle to shut a few people up.
That's 2 games in less than 4 or 5 days for Darron. This is a big game for him. His biggest so far?
I was looking forward to Inter v Bayern. Now I have what passes for a dilemma.
Looks very confident and focussed in the pre-match line up. Probably visualising all the tackles he's not going to make.
No doubt about it. Big vote of confidence from Ferguson. Lets hope does himself proud.
It will be interesting to see if he does the defensive work tonight.
I'm listening on the radio. He has been anonymous.
He's still shying away when UTD have the ball. Plenty of times he could have moved into decent positions and the back 4 were left doing long balls to nani/rooney. Did a nice run at the end though to setup a chance.
O'Shea playing very well.
He's been getting into better positions than we're used to seeing him and he's been asking for the ball more. Bitched out Nani when he didn't spot him for a pass in the final third.
Carrick has had a stinker - I don't think he's completed a pass yet.
Its so hard to judge him. He played two excellent balls to Nani around the back of Heinze. Then the game seems to pass him by for periods. He looks comfortable when he receives the ball and has played better than Carrick this half.
Darron has economy of effort, oft mistaken for shyness or anonymity.
He has done well, most every pass has hit the spot. There could be a goal for him in this game.
Worth noting that utd are playing badly in general so gibson is certainly not the worst out there.
Every pass he has made, has found its target, i only remember about two. Of note anyway. He does not look for the ball, its almost as though he is afraid of making a mistake. He will be the first off.
I think Gibson and Oshea have been uniteds worst players. O'shea looks very slow and laboured, he looked like he just wanted to get rid of it when he found himself in space on the wing, he was around 18 yards from teh line and he crossed it straight away. Rafal offers far more of an attacking threat, and looks just as good defensively, john will be getting less and less appearances i feel.
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
And there ye go. Shaking his head too.

He turned his back on that challenge just before he was taken off which is probably the worst thing you can do when playing for any team. Never good to see.
Fergie's done that to him a few times lately. Must feel his confidence needs taking down a peg or something.
