Gibson hopes for new deal: http://www.football365.com/story/0,1...395217,00.html
I'd be surprised if he didn't attract interest from a few other premiership clubs as long as he has a similar year to last season and gets a few games and goals under his belt. He shouldn't have to drop down to the Championship even if it turns out that he's not quite good enough to stake a claim for a regular place in united team.
He already looks to me to be too good for the Championship.
Gibson hopes for new deal: http://www.football365.com/story/0,1...395217,00.html
Ferguson has announced that there won't be any more signings, which should be good news for Darron.
Unless Hargreaves is fit to play, I think he's got a pretty good chance of sneaking in past an aging Scholes and an overrated Anderson to pair up with Carrick.
That was actually the first thing I thought of too when I heard Ferguson saying no more signings. Its giving Gibson a massive oppertunity, I think he has the talent but he needs to be alot more agressive when he gets his chances.Hopeful he will get a massive boost of confidence from what looks like alot of faith from Ferguson
Its really not that complicated!!!
This is his chance now to step up a gear and find a spot a least on the bench for regular basis.
There been good talk about what he can do in training ground but he must show that in front of the public..
He has the abilty no question just needs to be bit more open and confident in the ability he has
He needs to go out on loan and spend a season showing what he can do. Ipswich would be a great fit. Forty six Championship starts would do him a whole lot better than League Cup duty at Manchester United.
He turned down a loan deal last season, so I doubt he'd take one on now.
I think he wants to try his luck at breaking through this season, and if it doesn't happen, he'll move on.
You've got to remember that it's all been an upward curve so far. If he has a season of stagnation he may ask to leave, but that hasn't really happened yet.
The Champions league final really showed up Man Utds central midfield, in particular Michael Carrick who was simply woeful. Can only be good news for Gibson that despite what happened in that match, Ferguson is not strengtening that area of the pitch
He is a player who has been highly regarded for years.
He's never had a run of games in the Premier League, and until he has done that, I'm going to withhold judgement.
Trap has a good eye for talent, and decided to play him in a competitive game, despite his lack of first team football.
Once he gets settled into a top team's starting XI, whether that is at United or elsewhere, I think he will be a very good player.
I think Fletcher might be ear marked for more regular first team appearances next season. United certainly missed him in the final. Definitely an opportunity for Gibson to step upto the mark, Anderson hasnt exactly set the world alight, Carrick is hit and miss so if he can come in and at least be solid in his performances he should see alot more first team football this year.
Hes just signed a new 3 year contract at United.Obviously held in high regard by the manager

Its really not that complicated!!!
He has signed a new deal to keep him contracted to United till 2012. Ferguson seems to regard him quite highly.
Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher have the first three choice sown up anyway. Anderson started playing quite well towards the end of last season and deservedly got a good run in the team. Gibson still has Scholes ahead of him too and possibly Giggs too so I'm not sure if he will get more chances than last season initially at least.
Its a big chance for Gibson next season and a new three year deal shows that Ferguson feels he can do the job in Midfield.
Alex Ferguson : "His appearance ratio did not really reflect the high regard in which we hold him, as he has constantly worked hard to challenge for a first team spot."
this is extremely positive news.
