Stupid Q but who is this mcdermott guy who i see is the betting favorite as next manager?

Author of Never Felt Better (History, Film Reviews).
i meant it somewhat sarcastically as in why would he be the fave?
No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
A few possible reasons; he is currently available, he did a fairly good job at Reading before being dismissed recently and he has declared it his ambition to some day manage Ireland, the homeland of both his parents, as a means of redemption for regretfully committing to England upon the advice of coach Don Howe and senior player Kenny Sansom at Arsenal during his early playing days/naive youth: http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/...-ireland-dream
(Why are we discussing McDermott in the Gibson thread all of a sudden?)

I thought I knew the meaning of the word love, but I guess not.
How could you say this? What has he done in a green shirt? I have a great memory of his goal against Italy, but what else? He is among the worst (no pace, no touch, doesn't even have the physical presence) midfielders ever to play for Ireland. Is there something I'm missing?
Over to YBIG with ye if ya wanna keep that messing up.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Stuff like:-
" on 17 April 2012, McDermott guided Reading to Premier League promotion with a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest after a superb run of 15 wins in 17 games. On 14 May 2012,"
So clearly he has some ability, OK Reading have struggled in the Premiership, but they gained promotion form 5th spot via the plays off, that's almost mid table
so you would expect them to really struggle in the top flight.
So with him being of Irish descent he is good choice, plus he has shown belief in the magnificent Ian Harte!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watching Match of the Day, can't help but notice that Gibson's bald patch is becoming more pronounced. A side-effect of fretting about his international future?
Yea that is what I meant to say say, I said Reading when I meant West Ham, I wondered who would be first to spot that.
I think Swansea also came up via the play offs a few years back and have done well in the topflight, not sure why that would be, is
a play off side more likely to strengthen it's squad, obviously I would not know much about that given my previous post!!
Maybe they feel less pressure given they would be favourites to get relegated?

Anyone else notice the hoof upfield by Gibson yesterday with a couple of minutes to go which gave Spurs possession and from which they scored. Reminded me of something but I can't quite figure out what....
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
Didn't Duff give away the ball for Newcastle's late winner too? The same Duff that Trap said we missed in order to play out time
Funny, I was listening to Wenger and the pundits harp on about Arsenal's new-found resilience and mental toughness for withstanding a late WBA assault on Saturday. Such drivel. They shipped 3 or 4 gilt-edged chances and if a Lukaku side-foot had not gone inches wide with the keeper beaten all ends up , the headlines would all have been "familiar defensive failings" blah blah blah!
Trap was right to some extent when he said that if it had finished 2-1 he'd have fended off much off the criticism, although I still stand by my opinion that Trap's selection, game-plan, inactivity and then bizarre activity actually maximised Austria's chances of getting something.
Off the subject bit it look like SkStu made the papers in Canada again:
