Its happened many times before.
McGrath Moran Stapleton
Giles,Cantwell Brennan
Best Brennan and Dunne
Keane Irwin and and possibly O'Shea also.
In Trap we trust
O'Shea took over the captaincy as well when Neville went off. yes its only a league cup game but still great honour.
The more I am seeing Gibson, the better he is becoming, and in those games, he appears to be playing the holding roll rather than stringing passes about. At times, his passing can be poor but he is young and will learn from it, I think his ability to get the ball and to contain the opposition players is really good, although my brother seems to think that he will not be at Man United for too much longer, expecting a bit too much, I think.
Hmm, he did alright from what I saw. Didn't really stand out but did nothing really wrong either. His long term future probably is not at Old Trafford in my opinion but this run of games in the Carling Cup certainly won't do him any harm in the long run. A Wembley final if selected would be more welcome experience for him.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Best, Brennan , Tony Dunne and Pat Dunne
Scholes & Giggs are near the end of their careers
Hargreaves is injury prone and if rumours are to be believed might be shipped out in the summer
Fletcher is not all that, there are others in the mix too, Park is a good player who can play in the middle but I wouldn't write off his chances just yet.
how much longer are scholes and giggs going to go for? Hargreaves is always injured and anderson is average enough. He is fighting for his place against the likes of carrick and fletcher if you ask me, until of course ferguson brings in another midfielder things will then get difficult. Just looking at that uniteds defensive midfield is nothing special.

Probably won't be the most popular of posts but I thought Gibson was very poor last night. The only positive thing I would say about his performance was that he was involved and seen plenty of the ball. Unfortunately his distribution was very poor and I felt it was mainly due to carelessness. It was like he was trying to appear too cool for school at times just throwin his leg at it. As for Anderson being an average player I think is a mental statement. He's had an enormous impact in his short time at United and is still only 20 (younger than Gibson I might add).
I wouldn't go that far for the simple reason that I don't see him play often enough. Unless u are a regular visitor to United reserve matches it's difficult to form a proper opinion really I think. Last night was the first time I've seen him play 90mins for United in his preferred position and I thought he was sloppy but wouldn't write the guy off completely. Of course in the Cyprus match he looked completely out of his depth and was disappointing again against Poland faded horribly after a promising opening 10-15mins.
I only saw from 15th to 30th minute (so sod all basically) and thought he did ok, nothing particularly positive but he kept it ticking along and played some neat passes under pressure. One paper gave him 7/10, only Nani getting higher. OK, if anyone who saw him and thought he was sloppy I can't argue with that.
For me he doesn't "add value" enough and tends to let others look for the ball a bit more assertively but I think he's a handy enough player already. I think CM is a tough position - easy to look crap and hard to look good.
Worst Irish player in Premiership? I think you need to head up to Sunderland - there's plenty of competition for that title up there, a certain ginger CB leading the way.
When did you become a consultant stutts?! I have a feeling i used that term before here and you swiped it from me.....
Its a pity for Mschane that they recalled him because sbragia probably doesnt really want him either, just as cover on the worst days.

He attempted a pass without side of boot to O'Shea at left back. Underhit it and the full back carried it out. He made the most effort to win it back, and was unlucky not to. Theres two ways to react to that pass, scold him for messing it up affecting his confidence, or encourage him because had it come off, United had a two on one against an exposed full back. I'd be a proponent of the latter.
He won a crunching tackle, then picked himself up to outjump two players, including his own to win a header. Good determination.
United Fans nickname for Tomas Kuszczak because well he looks like a Pig
When Giggs and Scholes leaves, he'll be behind Carrick, Hargreaves, Fletcher and Anderson. One positive is that he is ahead of Possebon at this stage. The problem is, is that when Giggs and Scholes leave, United will replace them. His future is probably away from United.
WUM
An excellent workrate would be the least I'd expect from a guy trying to make it at one of the biggest clubs in the world so I'd give him no brownies for that. And on that point I think he could have worked harder to be honest. I was glad to see that he was involved in the game though (cos he wasn't in his Irish matches) and if his passing was better then it would have been a solid enough performance. If u really reckon he had only one misplaced pass then I reckon u must have made a nice few cups of tea during the match!!
