Why so smug? He moved to Livi to try and secure himself a move to a bigger club, at least he was prepared to take a risk. We only live once afterall.

None the less it is dissapointing to see - he can definitly play at a higher level - remember how good he was against Deportivo??! Keep the head up Wes and keep working hard... eventually you will get your reward

A lot of people will disagree with me now, but Blackpoo(l) is a major stepdown from Livi, and Shels.Bad move.

Think that is his level. Too small and weak to sustain it for a season.

I disagree 100%. Compare the first division of the scots and league one in england. more quality in england and also better chance of recognition

You rentitled to your opinion but I disagree - I think he is actually surprisingly strong and have been impressed whenever I have seen him. Also his creativity is a great attribute that many players lack in League One

Have to agree, there is much bigger crowds, good standard of football and he will be on football league review and the championship(roundup section) if he plays well and scores goals, good move I think!

Tell me, if houlihan got a move to nottm forest wud u say its still a step down? They play in the same league, same quality of players but have a bigger reputation than blackpool cause the won two european cups

Fair enough - I just saw the smiley and asumed you were being smug - just a misunderstanding.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether its a good move or not remains to be seen I suppose but if you look at things as they stand I think it is a step down as he left behind the prospect of more Europen football and has traded it for an unfashionable club who play at a lowere level to Shels imo. Also with Stan picking Byrne for the Chilie squad Weso may be have been better off staying at home. But who knows on that one - it may well be a meaningless gesture but we'll see.

Fair play to Weso anyway for having the guts to take a risk and go to Livi in the first place - who knows he may well be playing Championship very soon. Great signing for Blackpool though

Forrest would be a step up - but not becasue of the league they play in - Forrest is a big club with great potential, good fan base and history and a lot of decent players too. The same does not apply to Blackpool. I think its a step down because imo Weso is selling himself short - I believe he is too good for Blackpool

I think you need to do a bit more on English soccer history, Blackpool are steeped.

I'd agree its certainly a better move than Livi, who I dont think challange in the Eircom premier, however I reckon English 1st is pretty much the Eircom league level right now, only over there professional means just that, on the pitch and off it, with way more media coverage. The lower leagues are not a wilderness.

Byrne wont be playing anything more than a bit part in any Ireland squads, its nice to see SS show some respect but we dont have international quality players in our league - yet.
