Rovers director charged in connection to incidents in Limerick

    http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=37152

If its from the Herald then it must have been blown out of proportion. Saw this on the main board. I have only seen this guy on the telly discussing Rovers and is obviously a true Rovers fan. It is usually the way that the guards will take the line of least resistance and arrest the ones that are easy to arrest.

Just as well Cork got through last night or it would have been a really bad day for the league.

As a director of the club he should never have put himself in that position in the first place. He should have been a million miles away from any trouble or hooligans, not standing in the middle of them refusing to move.

Directors of football clubs should be suitably attired on matchdays, and behave in the manner accustomed to football club directors, such as mingling with the opposition directors and doing the whole PR stunt. They have a responsibility to the club they are a director of not to behave like a jackass on matchdays.

If your club director(s) cannot be seen to behave, then what hope does the rest of the club have?

Unlike at many other clubs, the director is also a fan of our club, making him perfectly entitled to mingle with our support, as and when he chooses.

He was the Director that was hit with a stone during the match. Naturally, he was annoyed. When Rovers fans were attacked outside ( by local toerags and not Limerick fans ) no protection was being given by the Gardai. This Director had already given verbals to the Gardai inside the ground when they did nothing about the stones coming in over the wall. I would imagine that is the reason they put him down as "the instigator".
The unfortunate thing about all of this is that it will most likely mean that no Rovers fans will travel to Hogan Park in November.
The Gardai will have to guarantee the safety of the team and supporters. They failed miserably on this occasion.

The same place they get most stories - out of the peanut brain of the "reporters". Reading the Herald neither club comes out looking good. Well, Limerick SC (whoever they are) don't. Maybe this joker thinks it stands for Limerick Soccer Club.
