Didi Hammann-Who does he think he is??

    See here

I think he's got a nerve doing this. Its not as if he's changed his mind due to travel, or family circumstances or the like as the Reebok is 8 miles from the City Of Manchester. If I was Allardyce, I'd make him stay....cheeky bugger !!

Good signing imo....Fair Play Didi....wonder is there a sell on clause tho....

    from breakingnews

Dietmar Hamann will sign for Manchester City “in the next 24 hours” after telling Bolton he no longer wished to honour a deal he agreed with them earlier this month.

Hamann’s arrival at Eastlands has been anticipated for the best part of a week but fresh confusion surrounded the veteran midfielder’s exit from Anfield when Liverpool confirmed he was leaving Merseyside for Bolton earlier today.

However, it has now transpired the 34-year-old will spend the shortest amount of time possible as a Bolton player, with a move to City being sealed tomorrow

Hamann changes mind over Bolton switch

    15:45 Tuesday July 11th 2006

Midfielder Dietmar Hamann has apparently had a change of heart over his move to Bolton.
In a statement, the club said: "Bolton wish to clarify that although Didi Hamann signed a contract with the club, he has since had a change of heart and will sign for another football club in the next 24 hours."

Although they have refused to clarify where Hamann will end up, a move to City seems likely.

Blues boss Stuart Pearce has been attempting to push through the deal since for the past seven days, with Bolton resisting, claiming Hamann had a watertight deal with them.

However, with Sam Allardyce now relenting, Hamann is free to become Pearce's fourth summer signing following veteran striker Paul Dickov, French midfielder Ousmane Dabo and goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Excellent player woud have been very happy if Celtic had taken him on for a year (think City have offered him a 2yr deal though).

Dodge, out of interest why do you say "fair play"? Is this not just another example of players acting the ******??

Decent player, he rushed decision in June to join Bolton, when he sat down and weighed up the options there was a better deal on the table. He asked Allardyce to leave him go and it was agreed by Sam. Bolton get £400,000 out of it, best deal he ever did according to Sam. City get the player for 2 years.

Don't see much wrong really, only that Liverpool went and announced the deal was to Bolton, when really they (Bolton) had agreed with City a week earlier that he would go to them.

Bolton chairman acting the idiot though I see, claiming it was a tap up even though both Pearce and Sam have been on TV saying it was all done above board. Shame really.
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

Yeah, not blaming Pool or anything, just mentioning that they choose to announce it while Bolton and Citeh had been putting together a deal for the 5 days previous to that. That's the only confusion in this instance.

Yeah, in my haste to post I thought it was Dodge. He is a good signing, I would have taken him up at Celtic in a shot. Not sure I'd be too chuffed if he had reneged on a deal with Celtic in this way though.

Useless player?! He has been one of the most consistent players Liverpool have had for a long time. He may have had an unglamorous role to play but was extremely effective and protecting the Liverpool back four and allowing gerrard to get forward.

He should do well at City although will probably have less effective players around him than Gerrard, Sissoko etc, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Apparently it cost him 150,000 to buy himself out of the agreement, most expensive McDonalds ever, or was it just cos Fat Sam was with him?

Ha ha, I love football for these kind of stories. He speaks Scouse, will have to adapt to Manc yet couldn't understand the yokels in Notlob. Superb.

As if it was all about language, nothing to do with football.

to be fair the accent thing is stupid, but there is nothing to suggest the move was for football reasons either$$$$$$
